    1. This is absolutely horrifying. If they removed those organs, this goes way beyond a routine state autopsy to cover up a workplace accident. This looks exactly like black market organ harvesting, and they just assumed a foreign sailor’s family wouldn’t have the resources to find out.

    2. So the title is kind of burying the lede here: “…an autopsy revealed that all of his internal organs, including his brain, liver and heart, were missing”.

Why his Brain? Sorry if stupid question, just as sick as all this is, other organs can be reused

My cousin died in France a few years back, they returned his body back to the UK without his heart and lungs. No one was told until the inquiry… French authorities said they were lost.

Correction, I just googled the inquiry. It was his heart and only one of his lungs that was missing.

    5. Venezuela did an autopsy. When you do an autopsy all the organs are taken out, including the brain.

The reality may be more mundane than a conspiracy. The morgue tech had probably just been dumping things in the trash. After an autopsy, you end up with a big pile of sloppy wet gizzards, which should be stuffed back into the body, but sometimes just end up a medical waste. Perhaps someone with Venezuelan morgue experience can comment on the practices there.

This is just after India sent 2 planes full of aide to Venezuela?

India needs to less giving and relook at who it helps.

We were amongst first ones to setup hospital despite being 10000 miles away.

I might sound like bad person but most comments on social media in spanish on aide provided were extremely racist, stereotypical n hurtful to read.

I hope Venezuela is not another Turkey for India.

I mean, considering Venezuela has some serious problems with blackouts, could it be that the organs couldn’t be kept and got thrown away?

    9. Sounds like a trip to see the Wizard of Oz is in order. He should at least have a heart and a brain left over from last century! I’m sorry! Comedy is my coping mechanism.

France might have the same organ donation rules as Austria. Everybody is a potential donor, except if you have formally objected to it.

Kind of crazy.. but in some countries when they do a forensic autopsy they remove organs and not necessarily place them back in the body.

It’s probably not organ harvesting. More likely, they’re creating an information vacuum in order to hide the actual circumstances of his death, probly to avoid liability. The „oh, he fell. er, heart attack, actually.“ Guy could’ve been poisoned by something environmental, for all we know. The lack of autopsy notes is suspicious, too.

    13. If you die abroad this is standard procedure. They conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death and return the body while organs are kept for further testing.
