women’s sports shouldn’t even be a thing, i could dominate that league if they allowed men to play in it

completely unfair this segregated league gets to dish out million dollar salaries or endorsements

    2. MostlyPeacfulPndemic on

You are not wrong that her walking away would be an existential crisis for the WNBA

And yeah it’s great to see a woman allowed to be famous without doing anything to her hair or face. Especially a straight woman being allowed to not do those things and not receive criticism on it

    3. Well let’s be honest. Advertisers make a lot of their money by telling women they are not good enough. Zero money in telling women to focus on a healthy natural non branded lifestyle and that they are great just the way they are.

    4. _lordoftheswings_ on

Commenting about her appearance and assuming that men’s sports leagues don’t do the exact same thing is actually insane. First of all, CC is good but she’s not god incarnate on the court; Not tall enough to block, not Curry level percentage from behind the arc. Is she top 5 in the league rn? Hell yeah. Is she kinda cocky and good at rage baiting opponents? Also yes. There is no conspiracy here, sports drama exists everywhere and media companies love it because it gets outsiders to actually follow a sport, in this case women’s professional basketball.

I hope she leaves before she suffers a career ending injury from some thug. The recent throat punch, while very concerning, was overshadowed by the yellow shoe STOMP that followed and thankfully missed. I hope she tells them where to go and walks out with both birds flying 🖕🤬🖕

    6. WNBA is an immature league compared to NBA. The players get paid less, and the players are driven by jealousy and romantic interests than winning.

I just hope Caitlin says the hell with the WNBA and plays overseas where she would be welcomed and respected.

If women’s basketball in the US continues to disrespect and belittle her, I’d support her playing in the Olympics for another country.

Maybe Caitlin will finally have enough and show those jealous players how much she has helped the WNBA. Without Caitlin, ticket sales and tv ratings will plummet and those lucrative tv deals and endorsement Caitlin brought to the WNBA will dry up.

This is like weird to post here. It’s not really on brand for this sub however loved or hated a polarizing player is what they’re looking for. If you really care that much about why they’re constantly writing hit pieces about her You have to go into the origins of this country and its utilization of celebrity to push political agendas. I find that any celebrity that isn’t outright left or right and doesn’t wear their political affiliations on their sleeve is typically going to be targeted by the media.

Imagine being so deep into goi ball that you can name a wnba player lol

A Harlem globetrotters/ Savanah Bananas type of traveling tour event could be entertaining

    11. I have a hard enough time watching the nba these days… the skill level has gone wayyyy down since the Kobe era.

I don’t get why people are so impressed with LeBron, maybe he’s just getting old but I watched Kobe during his late years and the man was an absolute goat. When he had the ball, it wasn’t is he going to make it, it was HOW is he going to make it lol.

I watched LeBron brick shot after shot during the playoffs. Kobe was 10x better. You could triple team him at the 3pt line and Kobe would STILL sink a fadeaway 3 over them.

There’s has been NFL players who had mediocre careers attacking her now saying she should be gone because she’s a distraction more than she helps with WNBA.

The powers that be are trying to force something and using clark as a pawn in that chess game, im just not sure what the next step is.

”The exploitation of “sports” and the gambling associated with them, in order to divert the “peasants”, has been one of the most important tools of the conspirators.

It serves the same purpose in the so-called democracies that the circus did in the Roman “New Deal” and the mass disciplines and military reviews in the Communazi dictatorships.

The nation’s press systematically devotes more space to the so-called sports than it does to the nation’s affairs and policies by which men eat or starve, work or idle, live and die.

When the political scene becomes particularly ugly, as during the Korean “police action”, or the exposure of Communist agents and spies in the State Department, the conspirators can always manage to dig up one of their systematic sport “fixes” for the press, to fill the headlines.

They can manage to work up more indignation among the thought-controlled mob over a basketball gambling “fix” than over the needless sacrifice of a battalion of troops in Korea.

When the “fixes” do not suffice, the “peasants” are also regaled with the traditional soporific gangster continuity, a la the Kefauver Committee, by press and television. And from time to time, new “thrills” are cooked up by the conspirators to divert shallow minds that have been taught to avoid thinking and to live only for transient „thrills” and excitements.”

Also how they are subtly pushing Sophie Cunningham as a sex symbol is extremely weird (but she is hot tho for pushing 30)

    15. Lower_Pass_6053 on

Jordan got the exact same treatment coming up. It really seems like they are trying to recreate it which is awesome.

I’m all for sports getting back to a more physical game. The NBA is BORING, the WNBA is getting more clicks right now. You say they are doing something wrong, I’m saying they are doing something right.

    16. Eastern_End3520 on

The WNBA is an activist organization that just happens to play basketball! Clark is a disrupter of that „activism“. Caitlin Clark and her fans don’t fit into that mold, so they want her out of there. It is as simple as that! They will bully and intimidate CC UNTIL they break her!

    17. noneofthismatters666 on

This is absolutely stupid. Just more weird complaining. Clark’s name gets clicks and views, positive or negative. That’s all that matters to advertisers.

    18. Imagine beating down the one player responsible for finally tipping the salary scale in the players favor.
Choking out that sweet 4 X multiplier on the base salary.
Shitting down the throat of $270,000 base pay for ALL Players.
Let’s go back to $75,000, flying coach and riding buses, and playing overseas to make up for it.

      FFS people. For fucks sake.

I thought we were supposed to respect and honor trailblazing women that made it better for the women around her. What the fuck.

    19. Genuinely every news story I have seen about women’s basketball in the past 5 years has her name in the title. I don’t get it?

    20. Barter6overBible on

Emmanuel Acho has a platform but he doesn’t represent anyone. He’s a professional shit stirrer, he has to say controversial shit to get viewership so he can sell advertisements.

There is no grand conspiracy against Caitlin Clark, only media personalities that want to make money.

Now, the other players and wnba staffers that attack her both on the court and in the press do it more out of petty jealousy imo.

    21. BrocoliAssassin on

Where are all the women and woke men when it comes to the WNBA? Why aren’t redditors absolutely hating it?

If this had been any other sport where all the white people were beating up on the new black person that came into the sport we would be seeing non-stop articles and all sorts of names for the sport.

When its the other way around they are all silent.

    22. oldmanpotter on

Am I the only one who thinks she’s hated because she’s white? There’s definitely an element of racism here.

    23. what_am_i_acc_doing on

Why is there a PR puff piece about some random sportswoman in this sub?

    24. YourHuckleberry57 on

lol „clark’s mad skill exposing wnba mediocrity“.

      bwahahahahaaha.
