Wasn’t it still in the 160s about a year ago?

Anyways, I wonder if there’s some serious money to be made by shorting the Yen. I can’t imagine the Japanese economy is somehow in a better state now than it was a year ago, nor will it get any better. They have been left behind in tech (see: South Korea’s Samsung and SK Hynix making bank), and Japanese companies cannot easily import rare earth materials from China.

    2. 🤣
Does that really still surprise you???

I love it, because I’m betting on the price hitting 180 before the year is out.
Sorry, but your government is helping me out with that 😀

Won’t recover, global investors won’t invest in Japan anymore if there isn’t a solid chance.

Betting on Mirai won’t show any fruits

    5. All the japan glazers must be extatic. Pilgrimage to japan is now dirt cheap.

    6. Japan was strong in the 80s and 90s due to tech, research, heavy industries. Now everything is stagnant and its industries dying. It’s slowly turning into a service based stagnant economy. Turning into a glorified Thailand at large, and with more population problems. To make matters worse there is the growing conservative sentiment which only furthers the decline. Theres no reason at this time for why its currency would ever recover.
