Doesn’t japan want to fund a military? But cant due to some ww2 era agreement?
He is the guy who would get free rent for house sitting then call it unfair and demand to get paid for doing it. I’m sure Japan wouldn’t mind changing to getting paid fair market value for the land use.
Trump has been rattling this issue his entire two terms and it’s annoying how stupid he is.
First, he was complaining about US bases in Japan and how the US has to pay before finding out that Japan pays for them (and quite generously) to the point he said other allies should be more like Japan.
Then, he says Japan doesn’t pay enough and did stupid stunts like give Abe a “bill” demanding more money for the bases.
Now he pulls this card again.
It’s very convenient to have military bases in Japan though. And it’s not to defend Japan at all.
Us bases in japan is nt to protect japan but to box china in. China is the main target. And in the event tat china and us gets into a shooting war, guess whos china shooting at first. Yes tats right us bases on japanese soil. So japan is essentially protecting the us mainland
