You should drill a second hole in your plexi and add a second pipe for outside air intake to prevent negative pressure inside
There is a lot of example online of this
And maybe a small hole for the water (just for the quality of life)
I improve the performance of my own with this of -3° lower than before

This is the way.
Also isolate the piece of exhaust pipe from radiating heat inside. A blanket and some string will do nicely.
At this point, why don’t you buy a Midea Porta-Split? That thing is fantastic and uses less energy.

At least you’re actually closing the window. I’m going mad with people who install portable AC and leave their f-ing window wide open for the exhaust

I guess I am a skeptic. Not an AC guy,but an engineer. I live in CH 8+ months out of the year….other 4 in USA. Just fyi, again, not an AC guy, sitting in my garage, 32 degrees, running a single hose portable AC wich is outputting 15 degrees….intake/outake hose not connected…🤷♂️

I can only post videos for some reason, but voila!
That’s a bit too professional to be redneck – my original install when I first bought my portable AC used the box from the AC itself duct taped to the window frame for a few months 🙈
IMHO, other than properly sealing the window like you did, upgrading it to dual hose is a huge win with rather low effort – I didn’t have a smart outlet to measure the power consumption when I did the conversion, but there was a noticeable reduction in how often the AC needed to kick on the compressor to keep things cool.

Again, I am NOT an HVAC guy, I have read all about it, trying to learn….yet here I am, in my garage, I’m here 4 months out of the year in the USA…house has a 5 ton AC, working well, portable AC working fine,no hoses….please explain…….

Off, for those asking, I am a USA:Swiss citizen!

As long as your hose vents out….you have a intake/ outake…..you do not need a dual exhaust system!

Buy some XPS Plate, instead of Plexiglas.
Xps is a realy good Insulator tat keeps the hot Airlines out, better than plexiglas😅😅

And beware of the negative pressure
You sir are going to like [this article ](https://www.woolie.co.uk/article/convert-ac-from-single-hose-to-dual-hose/) for your next redneck DIY upgrade.
