299,813 in Canada lolol in 2025

Just missed the mark, but yeah, Silverados and Sierras are very popular

Kind of wild that people in China would consider GM with high tariffs and so many other (better) options, but the population numbers are so large I guess it’s a basically insignificant fraction of the total.

The picture may look different if we consider production rather than sales.

GM Korea produced 462,000 vehicles in 2025. The company sold 15,000 units in the Korean market and exported 447,000 units (97% of total production). GM Korea is a major contributor to South Korea’s trade surplus.

It also serves as a clear example of how the tariffs Trump imposed on South Korean-made cars could harm U.S. companies.

    4. Had to Google to see what cars GM make.
I didn’t know they own Chevrolet, I remeber seeing them when I lived in Argentina and they sucked bad.

Here in Taiwan I haven’t seen any.

I am surprised they even abandoned Latin America.
They have essentially made the same mistake Ford made when it left India just because it was not willing to continue making small vehicles more suited for the Indian market like the Ford Focus. TBH, American car makers do very poor research when it comes to global markets other than Canada.
In contrast, Toyota has designed vehicles for every market and assembles or manufactures vehicles on every continent except Antarctica.

    6. GM sold 4 million vehicles in China in 2017… they now sell about a third of that number just 9 years later.
