That was a tough waiting time when they postponed the landing originally planned for July 4th again and again, because images of the planned landing site taken by the orbiter revealed the terrain was rougher than expected. And then that first image from the surface. Wow!
I remember the excitement. The images of the launch on a humongous rocket, the animations, the diagrams and the first images. I wish space exploration could still illicit such excitement
