Their army would be vaporized in days, if not hours. Badly trained, ill-equipped, not really motivated and forced to cross heavily mined lands with pre-sighted slaughter alleys for artillery. Sending his armed forces into combat could lead to him being removed by the people.

Belarusians are not Russians. They will not enter to serve a dictator like Lukashenko that easily. But who knows?

This is a simple process that has been playing out since day 1.

Step 1 – Belarus claims they are totally going to show up

Step 2 – Belarus says they have security concerns about Poland or whomever so they can’t show up.

      Rinse and repeat.

I was wondering about Lukashenko’s recent apology. Since 2014 he’s done everything possible to appease Putin while keeping Belarus from actually getting involved in a war.

Suddenly coming out and apologizing to Ukraine makes no sense unless it’s a distraction. I can’t imagine Lukashenko distancing Belarus from Russia while Putin is still alive.

Other than raw manpower and a place to launch drones from, what does Belarus have to offer? Their ammo and some of their equipment has already gone to Russia.

Doesn’t make sense even for Russia. Right now their industry is safe from Ukraine attacks and they can use it to supply Russia.

If they enter the war officially their refineries and industry will be fair play for Ukraine drones.

Plus the political risk of potentially losing an ally?

    7. The regime would not survive that, they are content playing games on the side

I called it when he said he wouldn’t invade!!! I said watch those borders he a cronie with Putin !

    9. The moment Lukashenko dies with Putin still in power is the one to fear. Putin will just „help the people“ there and take over Belarussia.

Imagine looking at the absolute beating that Russia’s oil industry is taking and thinking of joining on that side.

It’s got to be the „If Belarus doesn’t uninstall the Russian drone repeaters from their border, we will“ comment yesterday, right?

Belarus has nothing to gain from this diminishing Russia. There’s no hope of a better economic or financial future for them by keeping such strong ties with a failing dictatorship. Threats to invade probably just keep up the narrative at this point.

If the opposition is using it as political attack points, I doubt lukashebko will do it. He has way too much to lose as he knows he would. He cares more about his own survival than Russia, and Russia is in no position nor trusted ally to not go into back him up without him losing his spot as well
