Dear daddy today is my birthday (urodziny, urodzinki is a softer version) today I’m turning 2 years old as a souvenir I’m sending you my photo (a photo of me) yours Halinka
I wrote it in polish the way it’s written on the card but it lacks punctuation so I translated it as it goes without assumptions

I always find these mementos so sad yet so precious. Most of ours did not survive, not even a photo of some family side. Maybe somewhere it still exists. Still trying to find other relatives of survivors of extended family, it’s hard because the records of our family were almost completely destroyed too. Which is part of why I did my degree in history. Lol but I managed to find my Babcias little sister from another mother, they did not know each other existed, after family was torn apart and were scattered, lost trail, murdered, etc. At least of that I am proud but still more to do and this gives me inspiration to try harder everyday to bring her peace and she knows what happened to *all* her loved ones 🙂
