I have the same mug. My family was from the Oslo area. My Bestemor lived to 86 (in Norway). My mom moved to the US in the 50’s, and when she had grandchildren, she became Bestemor. Then when I had children, I became Bestemor! Fun to see this. Thanks for posting~
My mormor lived from 1901 to 1998. My mother died last month the day before my daughter’s 1994 birthday. It was recently the 50th anniversary of my Cymraeg granma Ceri’s death, Cymru being the land of my father’s mother.
