They should have removed Trump the day he started his bombing campaign in Iran. Starting a whole wsr is insane. Everything Trump has done has been so so bad, I don’t want to diminish that. But Iran is orders of magnitude more significant than everything else.
Iran has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt the Republicans have no allegiance to the US or the Constitution. If they’re not actively working to take America down, then they just don’t give a fuck what happens to the country or her citizens to make a buck.
I was naive, part of me thought they might have some principles deep down. But Iran removed any doubts.

I liked Obama and JCPOA, and always understood neocons to have hated it and wanted done exactly what Trump just did.
Pompeo, Bolton, Cruz hated JCPOA ok got it.
Then Hillary complained about the Obama team (I assumed meaning, like, Ben Rhodes) when she was running in 2016, saying she was always being told to “go yell at Netanyahu” (said this in Max Boot article in The Atlantic)
Ok, so far so good, Obama team too hard on Israel, too soft on Iran. Got it. Prepare for airstrikes someday, she’ll be hard on Iran.
So she loses 2016, we see withdrawal from hawkishness, Trump elected, neocons like Bolton hate Trump, so far so good.
Biden wins, continues to take us out of Afghanistan, then the Anne Applebaum and presumably the Hillary democrats attack Biden over Afghanistan and say we should not retreat from American responsibilities blahblah, ok got it.
Trump doesn’t like Ukraine, gets re-elected. Is still hated by neocons.
Meanwhile, Biden hated by leftists on Israel but also by hawkish democrats on Iran. No one pushed Biden to bring back JCPOA or talked about Afghanistan as a win on either side.
Ok, now Trump does what neocons want, and Netanyahu at least is not *complaining* and then the war plans which Pompeo, Bolton, Cruz (and to an extent Hillary and Applebaum who criticized Obama and Biden) SAID they wanted happens, and it goes exactly as every military wargame said it would: Hormuz is choke point.
Now Trump predictably loses what was never winnable at the behest of the peanut gallery and so I get Orange Man Bad but I don’t even know at this point what any human being actually *realistically wants* to have happened here? Is Trump bad because he got rid of JCPOA or because of MOU?
It all seems like Obama and JCPOA was right all along, and Netanyahu and everyone else should have sucked it up and no one should have said anything if the MOU is the worse outcome?
So what does Obama say today? What does Biden? And if none of that is politically viable is the choice effectively between a Pompeo vs JD Vance?
