Für uns Arbeiter ist es wohl schön und gut, wenn die Geschäfte etwas länger geöffnet sind, aber was ich mir wirklich sehr wünsche, ist, dass die Baumärkte sonntags geöffnet haben.

I wonder how this will affect employees pay & overall quality of working conditions, as well as traffic in our already notoriously congested roads.
Our CEO-run government does not really care about human beings but alas, we annoying meat bags with our silly feelings are what an economy tends to depend on.
Remains to be seen if they actually will bother. The extra income would have to exceed the cost of staying open.
People should think for a minute how this affects general quality of life here. Considering that most big cities, financial hubs and vibrant places have shops open until 9 to 10pm, many people wouldn’t even want to live in such a boring country as ours. This might suit older people, but to attract talented young people, you have to offer them an exciting life. Here it feels more like a village with very little to do after work.
