    1. The road designation/color system was already the one we still use. Including the E-roads; I thought these came later with the EU. E79 is no longer in use, though.

      The Finland road sign typeface is also the same. As far as I know, it’s been digitized retroactively and not as a typical TrueType font, but a more tailored collection of shape objects.

      Bold to call anything a highway in Finland 😅

      I keep complaining about the 80 limit that dominates most roads and my husband didn’t quite believe me there are infact unrestricted speed areas on the German highways where I grew up.

      So when we visited my family for the first time and I got him to pick „the bigger“ rental car, he got ruined. There is no turning back. I’m proud and sad to announce he learned the location of every speed camera because „They can’t catch me if they don’t see me“
