    1. Remember to *go out and vote!* Also, remind your friends and family who might not have decided to vote to go out and vote as well.

These polls don’t mean shit. They are not accurate enough to trust and the only thing that matters is the turnout in November.

    3. So then there’s a small chance they get within 1 in the house and still lose the senate…

    4. 5 points only.. .as a Canadian, what do the Republicans need to do to crash hard? In the span of a month, our right-wing party went from guaranteed super majority to massive loss, mainly because the leader was supporting Trump.

    5. So I think Democrats will do fine in the mid terms, and actually have a good shot at the senate, but 5pts is quite mediocre. That’s 5 pts with Democrats basically with little to no coherent messaging and outreach, and a complete mess as a party with near decades low approval.

Imagine if we had a competent, organized Democratic party; the lead would be 10-12. Trump and Republican’s disapproval with independents is in the tank, plus a more organized Dem party could peel off even Republicans too.

2028 really should be a 56% to 42% Dem victory, given the economic circumstances along with very real looming Republican cuts to Social Security unless we act, but they’re far too incompetent to pull that off.

Should be 50..  proves the average American is fucking clueless.

I just don’t understand America. Trump is horrifying and the reputation of your country is in tatters.

Only +5 pts coupled with the fact they’re down -8 seats on the gerrymandering spree, means things are still going to get much worse before they get better. It demonstrates just what a hold the modern information environment has on people. Oligarch controlled media and social media algorithms have undone democracy. We saw far bigger swings in the past under far more benign situations that what we’re going through now. It certainly means they won’t have the numbers to do the kinds of things that need to happen to restore and protect democracy now.

I’m sure our midterm elections will be free and fair after two years of a literal violent insurrectionist and his cultists ravaging our democracy!

5 point edge over a pedophile, Americans are the most ill informed people on the planet.

    11. Fortestingporpoises on

Bunch of openly fascist pedophiles are only down by 5 in the polls. We’re so fucked.

I have a extremely hard time understanding how it’s only 5. Trump is openly the most corrupt president in history, and most if not all of the GOP in congress are in on it.

      5 points…fucking how

    13. In 1932, unemployment was at 23 percent, and 40% of people in America still voted to re-elect Herbert Hoover. Hoover was running for re-election having enacted the largest tariffs ever seen at the time, and literally one in four Americans were out of a job.

When veterans went to protest in Washington DC they were denounced as socialists and crushed by the military. Hoover supported prohibition, opposed immigration, and refused to support an anti-lynching bill.

1 in 4 Americans were out of a job, and yet 40% of the country thought “this is fine” and voted to re-elect Hoover. Because FDR would’ve been “Socialism”

Some People are fucking dumb and always have been.

    14. Should be like 35 points. Just shows how fucking clueless to the needs of the citizens government bureaucrats have become. We’re literally on the verge of losing our entire constitutional democracy to a dunce with orange hair and spray on tan and they can’t even pretend like they give a shit.

    15. Apprehensive_Bid_773 on

Can’t run on “trump bad” anymore (even though he most definitely is), need a strong positive vision. Hopefully national democrats can get their act together in that regard.

    16. I actually think that’s sad, that after all that has been and is going on, they can only manage a 5 point lead.

    17. They’re repeating what they did that put us into the Great Depression, but with more steps. All so the ultra wealthy can go on and buy land, property, businesses, etc., for pennies on the dollar. With no regulations on the amount of propaganda these days, people won’t realise just how ****ed we are until it’s too late.

You guys wonder why the world hates you. Your country is filled with literal morons, every stereotype you guys have shrugged off for 40 years has been proven objectively true. Gluttonous, unintelligent and selfish. That is America.

    19. If the democrats weren’t so brain dead that lead would be higher. They’re ahead only because republicans are somehow worse at their job than the democrats are.

    20. huxtiblejones on

The problem with America is not Trump, it’s the American voter. You literally cannot trust Americans as a group to make good decisions anymore.

I genuinely think there is something fundamentally broken in our people that has turned them into outright maniacs, people with no fucking objective bearing on reality anymore, no set principles, no loyalties, no foresight. Half the country’s voters just exist to spite everyone and will light their own country on fire just to laugh at everyone else’s anguish while deluding themselves into thinking this is what we need.

    21. I’m not convinced Republicans will actually abide by the results if they lose. Jan 6th showed us what the cult is capable of and that was on shorter notice and from a less powerful position.

Once they’re threatened with actually losing power, that’s when they’ll stop pretending and fully admit what everyone not in their cult already knows.

There is a very real chance that they try to institute a totalitarian regime. Trump has literally said the words „Americans might like a dictator“ multiple times.

I don’t know why people are acting like this is a normal midterm. That apathy is why we’re in this mess to begin with.
