Sogenannte Föderalisten diskreditieren sich jedes Mal, wenn sie sich auf Albertas „berechtigte Missstände“ beziehen | Warum sollten Albertas Beschwerden berechtigter sein als die jeder anderen Provinz?

Bizarre framing. Saying that one place has legitimate grievances does not mean you think other places have only illegitimate grievances.
Alberta: the federal government is blocking pipelines.
Federal government builds pipeline
Alberta: look at how they disrespect us!
My theory is that a not insignificant number of Albertans are convinced that the federal government has favoured Quebec for decades (at Alberta’s expense, they believe) because Quebec has been consistently blackmailing the rest of Canada with the threat of independence. So these Albertans think that doing the same is the way to go. The irony is that the Quebec independence movement is also fueled, at least in part, by a similar belief of being disadvantaged compared to other provinces.
Of course, Albertans and Quebecers with such beliefs are wrong, but this frustration is carefully cultivated by a minority in these two provinces because it’s politically profitable for them to fuel it.
I think it’s simply that one province (Quebec) has so many levers built into our constitution resolve their unique issues with confederation. It’s time bomb that has finally gone off an other provinces are now wanting the same mechanisms. We either extend similar provisions or put Quebec on a timeline to assimilating.
