What else do we let young people work as in this country? Delivery driver? Tim Hortons?

    2. There’s over a million person backlog for background checks.  Funny what happens when you triple immigration with no plan aside from hiding falling GDP.

I’m sure that fact that youth face minimal punishments for crimes also plays a role. Without significant consequences, I can understand why gangs would prey on vulnerable youths looking to make $$.

I remember about 20 years ago hearing on the internet that a gang assassination would cost $10k (probably USD), that used to be a somewhat accepted figure, although who knows. Interesting if all these years later after inflation it has been brought down to $4k CAD by immigration as per another story in the news today.

Wow that seems like a really good reason to be strict of deportation of criminals and actually making Canadian criminals serve their whole sentences rather than giving them a slap on the wrist because of „generational trauma“ or „it will effect their PR applications“.

Growth without planning has led to all kinds of problems in Canada that will take a decade to work out

Yes, we have labour issues associated with a greying population, as do many industrialized countries

But just throwing open the doors has had so many negative consequences for the average Canadian including unaffordable home ownership and rentals, overwhelmed health and social services systems, backlogged courts and over crowded jails, and downward pressure on wages

Trudeau’s policies have pit people against each other for scarce resources but also made some people rich. We’ve set up the average Canadian and immigrant to struggle

Instead we needed to invest in the demographic changes happening. We needed to let wages increase. We needed to invest in technologies and efficiencies and not just owning property. We needed to have clear and coherent immigration policies to support specific sectors and needs instead of low wage service jobs

    7. Wow who would have thought that youth with very little opportunity to advance in life will turn to crime?

Sweden just lowered the age for jail to 13 in response to this kind of bullshit.

Make it so young people have the highest unemployment in 3 generations.

Surprised when young people are forced into crime because they can’t get jobs.

      > Youth turn to crime when job prospects dry up

      Who would have thought…

How’s this possible? Provost assured us if they banned all guns it this wouldn’t be a issue

It’s gotten so bad that we have TFW hitmen undercutting the local competition.

You hardly see local highschool kids taking jobs as hired guns these days. Shameful.

    14. BackroadAdventure101 on

Good thing the firearms laws will prevent them from obtaining handguns.

    15. Not to worry, Ottawa will solve the problem by making law-abiding citizens turn in their firearms.

    16. Ive heard the youths these days call it „taking souls“ or „taking hats“ when going for a murder. As in they don’t do it for money or territory like people for them. More or less at times just fo it for shits

      Sounds nice eh

„sniper’s a good job mate. it’s challenging work, outta doors, i guarantee u’ll not go hungry, becuz at the end of the day as long as theres 2 people on the planet, some1’s gonna want some1 ded.“

    18. SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING on

The punishment for recruiting the youth to commit crime should be the punishment for committing the crime, multiplied.

So if an adult recruits someone to commit a crime that typically has a 5 year sentence attached, then they will be in prison for 10 years.

The reason gangs are doing this because recruits get a slap of the wrist due to their age, and recruiters can’t be punished for the actual act of committing the crime.

This is the “equal to and opposite” reaction to the economy and overall direction of the country. If there’s no jobs/future for young people, they will find a way.

    20. Different-Bag-8217 on

Shouldn’t that start with, Now that Canada has opened the door to these individuals. International hired guns are within easy reach for the everyday Joe.. there fixed it. The fact that our ex pm is living the high life instead of being dragged into courts to answer how this has been allowed under his leadership tells you that Canadians don’t matter anymore. Where’s the accountability.

    21. Flying_Scorpion on

Well if they can’t make money any other way, let’s let the cycle of revolution turn a little closer towards civil unrest.

    22. Then_Service1217 on

Culture is a fragile and organically occurring thing, just like nature. I’m not surprised that we should treat our cultures as we treat the natural world in the name of “economy” as the suicidal species we’ve become.

If people are resorting to this type of lifestyle, it’s because the government has made a moral one unaffordable.

People from the third world will steam roll people from the first, because we’ve been coddled sheep living in a high trust bubble.

    25. Honestly a life of organized crime is starting to seem a lot more appealing than my grueling, laborious job as a tradesman. Does anyone have a link? I’m very skilled with my hands

“It’s out of control”. As if until a year ago it was “in control)
