      Sounds like a covert competency test for the next round of AI-based layoffs. May the odds be ever in their favor.

      I mean… There’s tone-deaf „events“ and communication, there’s layoffs, there’s internal surveillance, there’s involuntary drafts with an utter lack of direction of any kind while splitting up established teams, there’s flattening managers with proven track records in order to go 50:1… Or you can do them all at the same time, and wonder why employee sentiment is negative. Not the choice I would make, but then again I don’t run a big company.

      Zuckerberg is always a day late and a dollar short. After Metaverse failed, he’s reduced to bandwagon-hopping.

      Seeing as how Instagram recently released an AI support chatbot that allowed people to easily hack into other accounts, yeah, I’d say AI is hurting more than it’s helping at this point.

      To me it’s interesting how employees from this company are seen as hot commodity in the market once they get laid off, they worked at a company that does such heavy surveillance on the public and the list of negative things just goes on and on. They do so and don’t complain, but now that their jobs are in danger and that their own house is on fire all of a sudden all of these articles are popping up…..

      I love how a lot of tech company owners are viewed as innovative, visionaries in their field, daring to disrupt or do something new to bring us all new technologies –

      And Zuck specifically is just some eccentric asshole who is best known for barbecue sauce, infringing on privacy and AI slop. Outside of “creating” Facebook…. That is his entire legacy.

      META has been poorly run for a few years. The stock has performed miserably over that time. Something has to change with META.

      then fucking leave. if you are a software engineer at Meta you make an average of $300k per year. you should have enough savings after a few short years to leave and go do something that isn’t destroying the world.

      I have never once heard of Facebook employees that are happy. It seems like a miserable place run by a miserable asshole that only serves to make the world more miserable.

      Hackathons have always been stupid. If I have an idea I’ll bring it up. I don’t need a hackathon to do that. You don’t just say “okay, creativity starting…NOW!”
