    1. While I disagree with forcing women to wear it, we also can’t forbid them from wearing what they want. This is disgusting

This is what happens when you normalize this type of bigotry in law, it emboldens other bigots to make a mess of everything.

This isn’t protecting your culture, it’s xenophobic lacité tribalism, that the CAQ and right wing media has been fostering in Quebec.

If you’re Jewish or Muslim, the Quebec government doesn’t want you to live in the province. Doubly so if you don’t speak French.

Unfortunately French Canadian nationalism has a long history of bigotry against anyone who is a French speaking cultural Catholic. I should know, my mom’s side of the family are anglophone Jews from Montreal.

    4. It’s literally a piece of clothing like a shirt or scarf. Nobody ever questions those choices but here we are policing Muslims

And they criticize Taliban! The same actions, one is forcing women to wear a specific clothes and the other is forcing women to not wear it. The same action but we try to show ourselves in the west as special! This is disgusting as the end game is isolating minorities and having their kids grow in a shell and feeling they are under attack.
