While I love to rag on celebrities for being entitled, this is not being entitled. This is no different than your Uncle Bob and Aunt Barbara giving you tickets to see the game. The Knicks [as a team] are spending their money to give tickets to Stiller, who’s a massive fan. Sure, he can absolutely afford them, but this is more of a gift for being a massive fan.

Anyone calling him entitled over this would gladly accept free courtside tickets to the team they love. It’s literally called celebrity row because as a marketing push you can see celebrities at the game.

      >ESPN host Charles Barkley asked the Hollywood star, „How long have you actually been a season-ticket holder?“
Stiller simply replied, „I don’t have a season ticket. I just get the tickets. The celebrities… [the Knicks] give us the tickets.“

At least he’s being honest. The Knicks wanna promote their brand, and they know shots of celebs on the court make it seem cool to be there.

Wouldn’t it be actually entitled if he ASKED for free tickets? They offered them. Who would say no?

    5. It always has been so odd that celebs get free stuff. But also I really don’t care that they are going to a game. Ben, Spike, Tracy has been fans forever and NOT just because they are winning. They are to NY what Jack Nicholson and Dyann Cannon was to LA.

I mean it’s not his or their fault, the NBA/MSG is giving them the free tickets.
Which isn’t new, every company does this they give Celebs/Rich people free things as a way to promote their thing. And the thing they are promoting now is the NBA.

Shoot if I was in his shoes I too would accept the free tickets.

Who’s expecting him to turn them down or say ‚I’d rather pay‘?

Reminds me of the scene in The Other Guys when Steve Coogan’s character is trying to bribe Ferrell and Wahlberg with courtside Knicks tickets.

Why are we acting like they were lame influencers who went to msg and said “give me free tickets and I’ll promote the Knicks?”

      It’s kind of the opposite.

Musk became a trillionaire today. This guy receiving relative peanuts doesn’t matter

    11. Okay. What major sporting event hasn’t done this? Seems a little late to be concerned about the access and reach the wealthy and famous have.

      >A second commented, „The richer you are, the less money you have to spend on things. Totally convoluted,“ while a third added: „Man, aren’t they embarrassed though?“

uh, nope, no they are not.

    13. This is a form of advertising expense. People get worked up for the dumbest things that they don’t understand.

Ben has always been a legitimate Knicks
       fan. This is a non-issue

He seems like a decent dude, I don’t blame him for accepting grats. Hate the game not the playah.

„Sorry but I can’t accept these free tickets – it might make me look entitled.“

    18. CheezBerger324 on

If I was a world famous actor and comedian who’d provided entertainment for millions and millions, and I got offered free tickets to my favorite basketball team for it, I’d sure as hell accept.

      So what?

As Saint George (Carlin) has intoned: “It’s a big club and you’re not in it.”

Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, Spike Lee, Edie Falco have been at the Garden good times & bad for at least 25 years.

Now if you want to look at bandwagon fans, the Swiftie crew & Chalamet will be the first place you look.

Celebrities get free fucking *everything*. It’s so ridiculous. The richer you are, the more you don’t have to pay for stuff.
