      I thought the flag code applied to an actual flag, not clothing designed to look like a flag. Still tawdry as fuck though. Personally, with all of the insane crap that’s happened and is happening in this administration, I stopped caring about small things like this. There are so many things that can be reported on and they choose dumb shit like ring girl outfits.

      They’re tacky, they’re ugly, and they’re disrespectful.

      But nothing about them violates flag code. The code dictates actual flags should never be turned into clothing, or other items. None of these patriotic prostitute costumes were made from actual flags.

      I don’t really give a shit about flag code. In fact, I don’t even care about the flag. It’s long been divorced from representing the people of the US and moved on to being some weird idol.

      The main thing is just how tacky these are. I refuse to believe anyone can actually think these look good.

      I hate Trump with the intensity of 1000 burning suns. THAT SAID, let’s not clutch our pearls on this one. These outfits are obviously inspired by the flag and use flag colors and elements, but do NOT feature THE US flag on them.

      Now, let’s focus our outrage on the event itself: using beloved government landmarks and facilities to prop up a for profit venture that the president just so happens to be personally invested in…

      I would say almost all uses of the flag by MAGA are in violation of flag code. They have zero respect for it.

      A flag code (read: etiquette, not law) violation is probably the least of all the issues with this event, let alone everything else that shit heel government is doing

      So youre telling me that the kneeling during the anthem in 2015 and again in 2020 was a disrespect to the flag, but having the flag cut up and worn around your ass and other private parts is cool…

      So it was never about the flag…who’da thunk.

      I hate Trump completely and think he’s a garbage, evil human being.

      That being said, anyone referencing the „flag code“ is just… dumb. No one cares about the flag code. It’s not a law, it’s not a rule. It’s basically an etiquette guide, that’s it.

      Pretty much every person ever has broken it, and it’s fine. We wear flags on our shirts. We hang flags and don’t take them down every night. We let them touch the ground, we don’t dispose of them propertly. And… it’s fine.

      There are SO MANY ways we can criticize Trump. Attacking him for some perceived „flag code“ violation just kind of trivializes criticism to me in a way. No one *really* cares that some outfits at some event have flags on them or whatever.
