      Have each individual state pay out 10s of billions each for their own defence in prep for a future war that doesnt need to happen if russia loses hard now in ukraine ?

      Ideally, Russia would just go the fuck home.

      Since they won’t, this is money well spent.

      Imagine the costs for EU/NATO if Russia would take whole Ukraine and share a long border with Poland..
