Im Jahr 1587 verschwanden die ursprünglichen Siedler unter unbekannten Umständen. Das hat mich schon immer fasziniert und ich dachte, dies wäre ein guter Ort, um zu fragen, warum.
i think they ranout of supplies (thats what John White went to England to get but was delayed) and went to the local Indian tribe (they have down Indians with blond hair later)

From what I remember, they were waiting for provisions but it was taking too long. So they moved on to where there was food. Apparently, they carved that into a tree to let the people who finally returned know where they are.
Some suggest that a near by tribe of Native Americans helped them and brought them to safety.
OR are you looking for a conspiracy for real and not an explanation? I like to think a band of something possibly supernatural or even a cult, caught wind they were building there and were NOT happy about it. Like the way American Horror Story did it, but not in such a brutal way. More like just sacrificing instead of violence.

I think the date of the first Thanksgiving happened decades before the history books say. And it being so new the Roanoke settlers had literally no idea how dangerous a black friday event could be so they all perished in a rush to get half price hat buckles.

The going theory is that they ran out of supplies and had to leave the island to find food on the mainland. They left a message carved on a post pointing in the direction where they went. Search parties never found them. They most likely the just starved in the wilderness.

Yeah this was solved. They joined a nearby native encampment and integrated into their culture.
There are pretty strong theories that they moved further inland and abandoned the settlement. Decent archeological evidence to support it.

this has been conclusively answered. they relocated to the mainland and integrated with a native tribe.

Incurable disease (for the time period) and famine.

They didn’t accept the Oglethorpe doctrine and were left to peril? No really they landed in no man’s land, were abandoned, and couldn’t maintain usefulness. The natives had no reason to wait a year or so for their return, the captives(bargaining chips) became a burden.

Miniminuteman did an excellent video explaining what happened based on the evidence available. I’d highly recommend watching it – https://youtu.be/dDl5TyU-tkc?si=WgB80iKL13SyVNi-
