    1. Seems like they’re starting to take it seriously. Was basically a slap on the wrist with a wet bus ticket in the past if the cops even took it serious at all.

One again, “arrested for” equals guilty in a headline.

Why do we even bother with trials?

Now that I’ve got kids, reading these stories makes me feel even more immensely disgusted than before. How could anyone harm *any child*?? It’s just absolutely monstrous behaviour. I can’t fathom it, and I feel heartbroken for the victims.

    4. You know what’s crazy? A coteacher gave me an old newspaper (because I like Ichiro and it was a special issue that commemorated his retirement) and in it was a full page dedicated to nudes of women. It’s less common now, but it always baffled me how convenience stores and bookstores would openly display magazines with nudes and gravure for all to see. It’s no wonder why dudes objectify women here. Top that off with fuuzoku culture (a recent article said more than half of dudes 25-40 have paid for sexual services), masturbation toys in drug stores, etc. and you have a recipe for a shitstorm of influence for young men. It’s like Japan is actively trying to fuck itself into oblivion.

The amount of posts I’ve seen on Threads from women cheering over divorcing their husbands is telling.

„Frequently being arrested“ = „All Arrested Men Are Guilty“, apparently

      This country, man….
