Damn, almost every country where there are no Christians is inhabited by Muslims. To avoid having to deal with these two religions, which I particularly like, I’ll have to go and live in Thailand.

I was a bit surprised by Turkey. After all, there has always been a remnant of the historical Christian population. There is even still an orthodox patriarchate in Istanbul (nominally superior to the others). But I had no idea their number had dwindled so much.
Conversely, Oman for example apparently has Christian expats working there (mainly from India), and also in Libya there is a Christian population just big enough to reach the 1% threshold.

Iran is over 1% though.

How did you obtain those figures? In Tunisia, religion is not officially recorded or disclosed, so there is no reliable way to know the exact numbers. These data are not collected by the government or any official organization.

Christianity has been in Thailand since 16th century with relatively mild suppression yet it never really took hold. An interesting case to be sure.

Parts of Vietnam are surprisingly quite Christian. Places like Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Nghe An are full of Catholic Churches. Contrary to popular belief these communities actually predate French colonization too.

No one can really know in places where a religion like Christianity is violently repressed. Iran. Afghanistan. Saudi Arabia. Yemen. North Korea etc. There is no way to know because any actual Christian is incentivised (by state violence) to not declare their religion.

If this map is projecting figures with added percentage of demographic, consisting of expatriate christian foreign workers and temporary christian residents, then it may have to be corrected to show only their native-born christian citizens.
