I’d be as happy as anyone if Collins got dropkicked out of office but man, the Trump Era has really lowered the bar pretty far for what ‚lesser of two evils‘ will get people to support.
If anyone wants to find Susan Collins’ skeletons, it’s real easy. Look at her voting record. And maybe medical for a lack of spine.
His questionable social media posts are outweighed by his repeated criticism of Nazis, fascists, racism, and extremist groups, along with strong opinions about the military and U.S. foreign policy.
You can think his explanation for the tattoo is implausible and still recognize that the evidence that’s been presented so far doesn’t establish that he was a Nazi or a white nationalist. As it stands, the „Nazi views“ claim doesn’t seem to be supported by the posts that have been quoted.
Well, we’re definite going to see no less than 10 Atlantic articles about his problems in the next couple days.
I’m betting he crushes Collins in the election.

So someone correct me if any of this is wrong
1) He used to have a tat that looked like a Nazi symbol, but wasn’t a Nazi symbol. Got it while he was drunk overseas.
2) the founder of Women for Kavanugh said he blocked her from leaving a room once
3) He said some stupid stuff when he was young and made some GFs uncomfortable, but nothing that really crossed the line
4) sexted with other women early in his marriage, but didn’t physically cheap (This one I’m not okay with, but I’d imagine 70% + of Congress would have have to resign if this was disqualifying)
Does that actually sum things up or was there actually something troubling he has done? Because this seems like a whole lot of nothing.

I love how despite the DNC and the most establishment Democrats in congress openly supporting this guy as recently as *yesterday* people still come into these threads talking about how the DNC and establishment Democrats tried to destroy him and hate him and want him to lose in favor of Collins.
It’s getting to the point that some people here have no grasp of reality and just invent a fiction that has their guys constantly fighting against everyone they’ve deemed „the enemy“ even if it isn’t based on any reality at all.

That is the actual million dollar answer. There are huge swaths of the voting population in Maine that just refuse to vote and as a result Susan Collins retains her death grip on her senate seat; and I do mean death grip cause we all know she’ll stay there until she dies of old age.
perhaps the most frustrating excuse is when people refuse to vote because they don’t feel represented. My guy of course nobody represents you, you don’t vote. So the politicians always sway towards the voters who do vote to feed you into a meat grinder for extra money. There’s a reason why they are desperate to take away your vote even though you refuse to use it… because they realize once you do, suddenly you have a voice and politicians have a reason to actually cater to you.
The number of people here willing to excuse highly problematic behavior toward numerous women and at the very least indifference toward Nazi crimes is astonishing. Especially when the same people oppose the MaGA movement for the same reasons (in part, anyway).
