I suspect the venn diagram of people inclined to pay attention to this law and people inclined to leave XL Bullies alone with children is two entirely separate circles.

This sounds unenforceable despite being well intentioned tbh

Edit: the image of the woman holding the picture up on the article, is that one slop or two?

Huge animal lover, but could sleep soundly if we had vans going round collecting these monsters and disposing of them in a humane way.

Only bellends own XL bullies anyway and they will not give a shit about this.

At this point just destroy the breed. They’ve been responsible for so many attacks and people still want them as status icons

    6. I don’t know why banned dogs aren’t just put down.

If you banned guns you wouldn’t just leave them with the owners. So why are people allowed to keep the banned dogs?

      common sense really.

everything should have a main course before dessert.

    8. I love my Staffies, Pibbles and other Bully breeds. I trusted my late boy Phelps with kids of all sizes and knew he’d never react to having tail pulled or similar. He used to be loved by kids so and down the road wearing his fun outfits and hats, being a fantastic breed ambassador and getting fussed by them.

But I never left him alone, unsupervised without a harness and small lead. Not because he couldn’t be trusted with kids or adults but because it would be reckless to. No matter if it’s a Staffie, Jack Russell, Alsation or Chihuahua I would never leave them unsupervised because they are dogs and as much as I knew my boy inside and out who slept on my bed and I knew his every micro-behaviour, they are dogs and they can only use their paws and mouths to communicate their boundaries even if they are gentle.

    9. We should be educating dog owners that no dog, of any breed, should be around children alone. The greatest risk of dog bites to children is in their own home with the family pet.

Many people think „my dog wouldn’t hurt a fly“ but any animal can be unpredictable, especially around small children who move quickly and loudly. Yes, the bites from a breed like an XL Bully are a lot more severe and can be fatal, but a lot of people will think their dog is safe around children if it’s not a banned breed.

I mean you shouldn’t leave children alone with any dog regardless of breed?

This doesn’t prevent the child from being torn to shreds though does it. It doesn’t stop escaped dogs from dismembering members of the public on their way to the local shop for a pint of milk.

Just get rid of the things.

    12. There should be expensive licencing for certain breeds that you can only get after passing a proper dog training course.

That’ll sort the true dog lovers from the scummy cunts that have a nasty untrained weapon at their feet.

I was furious when my nieces father looked after one for his friend whilst his daughter was in the house. She was only 7 at the time.

      Fucking moron

    14. My neighbor has one and I’m fucking terrified of it. Takes seeing one in person to really appreciate how intimidating it is.

They are at least fairly good owners who always have it in a muzzle… But still

    15. Are XL Bully dogs inherently more dangerous than other breeds or is it mainly down to the type of people that want to own/breed these type of dogs? Like can a good owner buy one of these and have no trouble or are these breeds just a ticking time bomb?

    16. AndreasDasos on

The AI slop of the crying toddler and XL bully on that protest sign… How are these people so dumb and so unaware of how obviously dumb they are?

    17. The owners of this kind of dog are usually the type who don’t care about the rules and other people. If they did they would own a different breed instead of a status symbol.

There has been a significant uptick in deaths due to dogs since Covid and this increase is all down to XL bullies. These assholes owned dogs before that weren’t attacking people but now they do. The owners haven’t changed but the dogs have. Its the dogs.

Stop this nonsense where people say theirs isnt an xl bully because its been crossed with a terrier or something. If it looks like an xl bully then its an xl bully.

The breed needs to be banned outright. If people are allowed to keep them then the dog needs to be neutered. Every single one of them. Nobody should ever be allowed to breed them.

The breed needs to die out. That doesnt mean they should all be put down but this should be the last generation.

    18. Surely leaving a “dangerous dog” around children alone is 10000000000 percent the fault of a parent yet another thing that ignores pos parents and responsibility

    19. ExoneratedPhoenix on

Ah, more bits of paper saying it isn’t allowed, but no actual action against those breaking the law.

You can draft as many laws as you want, I see pits, XL’s and all sorts with increasing frequency year on year as laws get tougher. Mostly criminals and yobs get these dogs, and the police do nothing to enforce these laws.
