So after taxes and other mandatory payments the person would make around 2600€/month or less. This means, that almost 1/3 of the whole salary is just taxes. That’s rough.

I think it’s interesting that any discussion about salaries in Finland will basically always turn into a discussion about taxes even though it is definitely a thing that Finland has low salary levels for skilled and experienced labour (and relatively high salaries for low wage jobs).
Almost like Elinkeinoelämä would not want Finnish people to talk about salaries…
I get where it comes from, the role of right-wing parties, particularly Kokoomus is to represent interests of the employers and company owners, so they certainly can’t talk in political discussions in public forums about salaries being low in this country and left-wing parties care more about people living on benefits as higher income working people do fine in society anyway, so no party really cares about this, but it’s still strange how little the relatively low salaries for experienced and skilled labor are talked about.

If I would get 3615€ a month, I would be rich. Heck even about 2000€ I would be rich as well.

> The dispersion of earnings was biggest in financial and insurance activities, where the highest earning decile earned at least EUR 8,444 and the lowest earning decile earned at most EUR 2,854.
This gap is kinda wild, ~3 times difference between p10 and p90.
And can I assume „information and communication“ includes Software Engineering? 4,990 mean salary is higher than what I expected (~4,000)

I made 3000€ a month before tax in my last job and was able to live like a king
Its insane how little money you need in Finland to be ‚rich‘

1700e now. My work is not seen as valuable but apparently it needs to be done. Maybe in another 10 years I will see 2000e.
