    3. Yeah, the trees were from Laragh near Glendalough.

      Always thought it was a bit weird that Dublin is given as the place of construction. That would mean bringing all those trees cross-country, through thick forest and bogland. The alternative is to just float them down river to Arklow (another „Viking“ town) and build the boat there…..

      That’s very interesting, thanks for sharing,

      I always thought the Irish vikings were from western Norway, while the ones in England were from Denmark. Like all of history, it clearly isn’t quite that simple.
