I mean.. like this whole thing is so stupid. We’re talking 대기업 level marketing teams and they’ve not known that..? It was a mistake? Even if it were mistake, of all ppl “marketing” ppl should’ve known better than that.
And the half-ass apology from the owner, politicians rallying up supporters… what a fucking shit show.

I don’t get this mistake. I am sure it wasn’t intentional, but everyone in Korea has been educated about 5/18. If you didn’t remember enough to think it could be a problem, that’s a major oversight, and it seems no one paid much attention to the marketing campaign and then it blew up. Bad business.

It is such a stupid mistake that it feels more like a stunt to see if Koreans love US MNCs and coffee culture so much that they will just lap it down.
Starbucks is pretty unethical anyway.
Just google them up and keep scrolling past the marketing booze

Why is this flared as catastrophe as if someone died from drinking coffee?

I think I had Starbucks once when they first arrived on the scene and the coffee was so bitter I could barely drink it. Never went back. Can’t see spending money on sugary drinks I can make at home. They are way overrated.
