    1. I see so many describe Rubio as a moderate they hope will take over after Trump. That is worrying. I hope Denmark keep the explosives they prepared for the airfield ready for next time. When Trump says Greenland is „crawling with Chinese ships“ that’s simply a lie. Blatant dishonesty which American society for some reason tolerates from the president. Justification for his own administration’s hostility.

It’s just a matter of time.

Anyone looking at Earth’s polar projection would understand why the US wants, needs, and will get Greenland, one way or the other.

I don’t think this is really about Denmark. Countries can promise cooperation but they can’t guarantee the future. A lot of strategic vulnerabilities start as normal economic and political relationships that seem harmless at the time. The concern is less can Denmark be trusted? and more What happens if circumstances change 20 years from now?

guy’s basically admitting they’re eyeing it regardless of what Denmark says, which is pretty wild for a supposed ally conversation.

Greenland is a small place, but its strategic importance is growing.

The Arctic is becoming more important for shipping, resources, and geopolitics.

That is probably why so many countries are paying attention to Greenland now.

Am I the only one who reads this and sees it to be a politician’s dodge? While I’d like him to emphatically state that Greenland is part of Denmark, his answer could be whatever the hearer wants it to be.

Die hard Maga (really for Trump): He’s stating a fact. Greenland is part of Denmark today but doesnt preclude a change in status at some point in the future.

Denmark: Says that Denmark owns the island with an unfortunate qualifier or for leverage in getting more concessions.

Greenland: No invasion is imminent but Greenland may seek independence or a COFA (no chance in my opinion. Pre-Trump possibly).

This is like Senator Thune saying they don’t agree with Trump in a way that they don’t actually do anything or upset him.

Rubio is a skilled politician. He knows he has to thread the needle a bit especially since he may have an advantage over Vance.

I wonder if President Trump will send him packing after these comments, one thing President Trump hates is any defeat, bo matter how small he learned from the worst of the worst like Roy Cohn to never admit defeat and keep moving, even if the results are disasterous.
