    1. One reason the Ivy League is concentrated in the Northeast is that most of its members are older than the United States itself.

Harvard was founded in 1636, more than a century before American independence. By the time the United States became a country in 1776, seven of the eight Ivy League schools already existed or were about to be founded.

    2. These glacier lakes in upstate NY look like some freshman from another ivy league college drew some stink lines for Cornell

    3. Genuine question, how hard is it to get in one of these universities?

I know a few people from my country who studied in Harvard and Princeton and they are dumb as fuck…

I always thought only geniuses and ultra rich got to study there, so whats the deal?

American universities have a different process of getting in than in my country (just one standardized test), so I am curious on why a lot of smarter people don’t study there?

My grad school years at Dartmouth were probably the happiest of my adult life. But goodness I was always a bit shocked when I would travel south and remember just how far north Hanover, NH is.

    5. Fun fact: Georgetown was once invited to join the Ivy League and turned them down.
