SS. Nachdem wir uns jahrelang darüber gestritten haben, dass wir Einsparungen machen und weniger verbrauchen müssen, weil wir die Umwelt zerstören, scheint sich keiner dieser linken Technikleute mehr darum zu kümmern.
This is why they want to ration power to help data centres have it instead. The whole “ the oil is running out, or the world is burning from extreme heat” is going to take on a whole new meaning.
Imagine living near one of these or birds that used to have flight paths near them.

They see your consumption as vulgar, while their need for energy is progressive. We are the problem to them, they need these data centers because we are threatening to them. They know they’ve gone too far, and as long as we sit still they keep going.

Yeah, this is getting a bit insane. Honestly, I’m not even sure they physically be able to even turn it on once it is finished. All this might just be a giant investment/construction scam which is the result of refusing to regulate the tech industry for the past three or four decades.

Let me preface this with: Data centers are an issue for many places.
That said, data centers don’t release energy all at once like a bomb, but over the course of 24 hours. The ground right outside your door already gets pelted with way more than that just from the sun alone. It’s a shock statistic made to change your mind about something by putting in atomic bomb terms when it’s not even a fair comparison.
While data centers are, in fact, very resource intensive and can very well change ecosystems, comparisons like this are red herrings that you can’t really use to stop data center expansion and will only be used to prove that you don’t know what you’re talking about when standing at the podium at the city council meetings.

They never did. This was and is about one thing- power. They want governance, not government. The idea that we have to give the rest of the power and money to the very entities that got us here in the first place is poetic.
The conspiracy theorist label has been utilized with great success. The hypnosis that they have incurred is as dystopian as any Phillip K. Dick novel. “If the public really understood the international banking system, there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.” Denis Healy

I have no idea what you’re saying. The „left“ are the ones who have always been concerned w climate change..the right always downplayed or flat out denied it is happening. America voted in the right and their oligarchy, now we’re getting what we voted for.

Global warming was never about saving the planet. It was a money grab, combined with control, and tax breaks for the wealthy. If you thought it was anything else then I have a bridge in New York I am willing to sell or you can buy my ocean front property in Arizona. Both are a great deal.

Gentlemen, welcome to the next phase of getting fucked over by corporate greed and digital surveillance. Mobile devices as we know it will become obsolete, replaced by holographic interfaces tied to persistent digital identification systems capable of continuous monitoring and tracking. Your data, identity, communications, and computing power will no longer be on your personal devices, but within these centralized data centres controlled by governments and corporations. In time, laptops, tablets, and desktops will be phased out as access shifts from owner driven hardware to network controlled infrastructure.
One of the worst parts of it all is we have to foot the electric bill on this next gen of surveillance.
