EDIT: Vielen Dank an die Kommentare, die mir von den Hundeproblemen erzählt haben. Ich weiß nicht, ob er zum Teil ein Pitbull ist. Ich habe mich in Amerika ziemlich an ihn gebunden und er ist wirklich das Einzige aus meiner Heimat, das ich vermisse. Aber nachdem ich Ihre Kommentare gelesen und einige Zeit darüber nachgedacht habe, ist mir klar geworden, dass es für keinen von uns das Beste wäre, ihn zu adoptieren. Hey, ich habe hier für hilfreiches Feedback gepostet, und ich habe es erhalten, also vielen Dank an alle!
Für diejenigen, die meinen alten Beitrag nicht gelesen haben: Er sollte immer noch hier irgendwo herumschwirren, aber das Wesentliche ist, dass ich, ein amerikanischer Universitätsstudent mit einer missbräuchlichen Familie und einer Karriere in einer Sackgasse, in eine Stadt in der Nähe von München gekommen bin, um mein B2-Deutsch zu verbessern, aber festgestellt habe, dass es mir hier wirklich, wirklich gefällt. Ich kann überall laufen. Ich liebe das Brot. Ich habe Freundschaften mit anderen Austauschstudenten und sogar einigen Einheimischen geschlossen. Am Wochenende kann ich in den Bergen wandern. Und ich kann endlich erkennen, wie schrecklich mein Leben zu Hause war. Ich möchte nicht darauf zurückkommen.
Vielen Dank an alle, die mir mit Rat und Tat zur Seite standen! Ich hatte nicht mit so vielen positiven Kommentaren gerechnet. Es hat mir wirklich geholfen. Ich habe einen vorläufigen Plan für die Zukunft entwickelt. Da ich meine Familie dazu wirklich nicht befragen kann, wende ich mich um Feedback an euch alle.
Ich denke im Moment, dass ich am Ende meines Semesters nach Hause gehen werde. Ich werde meine letzten Vorlesungen für meinen Bachelor-Abschluss abschließen und etwa ein Jahr lang Vollzeit arbeiten. Ich habe ziemlich viel Geld auf meinen Ersparnissen und eine CD, die seit vier Jahren Zinsen einbringt, aber ich möchte diesen Vorrat aufstocken. Außerdem möchte ich in einem Tierheim, in dem ich letztes Jahr gearbeitet habe, einen Hund adoptieren – was bei der Wohnungssuche nicht helfen wird, aber alle im Tierheim hassten ihn, außer mir. Ich habe ein Foto als Referenz beigefügt. Er ist nicht der hübscheste Hund, aber er versteht sich gut mit anderen Hunden und Katzen und liebt es, zu kuscheln. Er ist auch ein eher kleiner Hund, vielleicht 20 Kilo? Und er ist ein Beagle, was meines Wissens hier nicht verboten ist. Wenn er bei meiner Rückkehr aus Deutschland noch im Tierheim ist, werde ich ihn adoptieren und hierher nach Deutschland bringen.
Ich habe vor, mich für eine Ausbildung zu bewerben. Ich habe in Amerika studiert, um Physiotherapeutin zu werden, aber ich habe etwas von dieser Leidenschaft verloren, weil die Regierung viele Kürzungen vorgenommen hat, was es für mich schwieriger macht, Bundeskredite in Anspruch zu nehmen und überhaupt einen Job zu finden, da viele Kliniken in meinem Bundesstaat staatlich finanziert werden und aufgrund dieser Kürzungen schließen müssen. Dafür könnte ich mich hier weiterbilden, aber ich könnte auch für einen anderen medizinischen Beruf studieren, zum Beispiel als Bediener medizinischer Maschinen. Wenn es im medizinischen Bereich liegt und nicht mit einer Operation verbunden ist, ist es für mich in Ordnung. Es ist mir egal, wie viel es zahlt. Solange ich mein Leben einigermaßen bequem leben kann.
Ich weiß, dass ich nicht so viel Luxus haben werde, wie ich es in Amerika gewohnt bin, und dass sich Deutschland in einer Art Niedergang befindet und so. Aber ich glaube nicht, dass ich in Amerika eine große Zukunft habe. Ich habe keine große Familie. Ich werde 20 bis 30 Jahre lang Schulden haben und versuchen, einen Abschluss abzubezahlen, der in Zukunft vielleicht nicht einmal mehr machbar ist. Das würde ich viel lieber gegen den Frieden und den Komfort eintauschen, den ich im einfacheren Leben hier verspüre. Wenn Sie Feedback oder Ratschläge haben, lassen Sie es mich bitte wissen! Danke!

I wonder how the extreme docile beagle nature and the extreme independent terrier nature (plus the latent bitiness of many pits, sorry) are mixing in your spotty doggy. It’s either averaging out or you have a cartoon character on your hands haha
this is a small dog yes i dunno what you mean with allowed, generally speaking most landlord dont like dogs because of the higher damages in the end
saying germany is in a decline is kind of a exaggeration, yea sure a ton of jobs are going the way of the dodo but that is also something accurate for the generation with most people in these jobs too
we got alot less people in the next 10 years being active workers

i dont know the situation with the job you descripted but there are alot of free positions in the healthcare sector and me personally already saw doctors and nurses from india, africa and our eastern bloc friends in east germany famous for being racist pieces of
Seems you already have a good plan. Ausbildung in healthcare is a good idea in general, and the study/experience is transferable even if you don’t want to stay in Germany anymore in the future. But you need to like it , or at least don’t hate it. There are also different Ausbildung options.
Germany isn’t really “in decline”, just hella stupid at the moment. But then, so are the States, and at least we have universal health care.
Health care professionals are in fairly high demand, so you should be good. If you were looking for a job in the automotive industry, it’d be different.
If the dog’s still there and you want to bring it over, make sure you have all the necessary documentation and paperwork. Fingers crossed he’s still there, waiting for you! And good luck moving to Germany.
Im glad that you love germany and have a plan in place to come back. But that dog is defenitely mostly pitbull. Shelters often try to hide an obivous pitty mix because it doesnt adopt out well. I have no personal experience with it but I think it might be hard to get this dog into germany.

I love that you want to give a home to a dog that has been overlooked at the shelter. However, I would very much recommend that you sort out your life and find stable work and living arrangements before you add a pet to your family.
It can be exceedingly difficult to find an apartment with a pet (depends where you live, of course). Get on a site like ImmoScout and search for available apartments in your price range and where you want to live. Next, add „pets allowed“ as a filter. See the number of theoretical options plummet from e.g. 120 to 14. That still doesn’t mean you’ll be able to get any of those places or even be invited for a viewing.
If you do „Ausbildung“, you’ll get paid, but it’s going to be very little, probably not enough to live on. So, you’ll likely look for a small apartment and be gone most of the day. Don’t add a dog to that situation.
I would recommend MN in the USA if you have to go back. Along with VT, it has the highest HDI/COL ratio. I am glad you had a better time here than I have. I came here to get a job and learn the language to make a new life here because of all the anti trans stuff and anti POC stuff going on, but after a year I have nothing. My honest opinion is if you can hold on to a life here that you absolutely should. Getting an Ausbildung is great. When you have a work visa here you should take free classes to improve your German through your standesamt. Aim for C1 and then C2 if you get to stay here long enough. If you get to live here long enough, get another passport, and make sure if you have kids to pass both of them down! If you get an employer that’ll pay for more German classes then you should take Speakeasy classes, they have taught me a lot. I am wishing you all the best and am rooting for your success either way!
Well if you’re in Bavaria or something it’s alright, but if you’re in Brandenburg you want to leave badly.
I think physical therapist would have a killer job market in the future given the number of aging population in Germany. On top of that it’s much better than working in a 9-5 competitive environment for the rest of your life. Abd best part, no emergency at all.

If you’ll have a bachelor soon, the most logical and easiest way to migrate to Germany would be to come back as a student for a masters. Takes two years and you say you have savings. If you are willing to improve your German even more, it should be easy to find a job afterwards.
