They are using a far right symbol. No better then the islamist regime

    2. To all the ones calling his raised fist fascist, etc.
Not everything is universal or means the same everywhere.
Japanese temples aren’t nazi hideouts just because they are represented by swasticas on a map, as an example (to those that say the manji is not the same because orientation, feel free to go make a sign with it outside and show it to the public and say you think it’s ok, see what happens).
BLM also used this raised fist thing on their logo.

Mind you, Erdogan isn’t the biggest fan of democracy himself and many turks come to Europe to seek a better life and Özgür Özel has in the past criticised the undermining of democracy in Turkey and been harassed and investigated by authorities for criticism of Erdogan and the lack of democracy.

Edit: There is also „raised fist of solidarity“ which has been used countless times throughout history to protest and go against fascist regimes, such as against the nazis and pre-modern Spain.

Shades of Yeltsin climbing the tank.
Circumstances kinda similar but also not really I guess?

Lets hope turkey’s gonna push through this time and bring back the democracy they once created for themselves.

Even implying that Turkey has any chance to (re)turn to democracy without some sort of revolution is blatantly ignoring reality. Comparing it to Hungary is fundamentally idiotic, as one is a stable democracy that was controlled by an illiberal leader while the other one is a dictatorship that sends political opponents straight to jail…

    6. Let me provide a summary of what’s ACTUALLY happening here and compare it to how it’s getting presented in the media.

The whole affair is an internal CHP (main opposition party) issue.

The guy in the photo is Özgür Özel, he was the previous leader Kılıçdaroğlu’s main supporter.

Kılıçdaroğlu stuffed the CHP delegate list with his own people. So despite losing election after election and calls for standing down from the CHP supporters, he would simply say he believed in democracy and if the delegates vote him out at the intra party elections then he’d happily stand down, knowing full well that he previously put in his people.

The same thing happened after the 2023 election when he lost to Erdogan once again, and he really should have won it due to the economic situation at the time.

So he once again said let’s have an election at CHP and something shocking happened, Ozgur Özel his right hand man won and Kılıçdaroğlu was deposed. It was a shock.

Then we found out the delegates were bribed to vote against Kılıçdaroğlu for the the first time by Özel. How do we know this? The guy who provided the cash to Özel admitted to it and provided the receipts in the forms of messages and how he dropped the bag of cash in Özel’s backyard.

At the same time some of the delegates admitted to receiving bribes, some went as cheap as changing their vote for a new iPhone.

So Kılıçdaroğlu supporters sued as they were genuinely robbed of the party leadership and they won.

Despite how it’s getting presented by people with an agenda, this has nothing to do with Erdogan or Erdogan deposing Özgür Özel.
