Basic logic: Iran delivers drones and drone technology to ruzzia, ruzzia terrorizes Ukraine, Netanjahu wants to destroy the leadership of Iran, you approve of that… Anybody criticizing basic logic is a moron. So, leave Ukraine alone or complain to Usyk face to face.

Interesting how Germany has one of the highest disapproval ratings yet a leader and politicians who are incredibly weak in criticising Netanyahu or his government

Israeli here, thankfully there are still a few of us left who want that cunt and his far right cronies out just as much as anyone in the sane countries.

    4. First of all, most people in Ukraine currently have far more pressing matters than delving into the nuances of Netanyahu’s politics, so for most Ukrainians, Israel is Netanyahu and Netanyahu is Israel.

Now, the reasons for higher support of Israel in general:

      1. Iran was a major contributor to Russia’s war effort against Ukraine. The infamous Russian drones that terrorize the country almost every night were originally manufactured and supplied by Iran (the Shahed-136 model) before being licensed for production in Russia. If you ask an average Ukrainian what their first association with Iran is, they will most likely answer „Shaheds.“ Since Israel is a major rival of Iran and is currently at war with it, this makes Ukrainians sympathetic toward Israel, following the simple „enemy of my enemy is my friend“ logic.
      2. Despite what Russian propaganda claims about Nazism in Ukraine, most Ukrainians hold quite favorable views of Jews and, by extension, Israel. Many have relatives or friends living in Israel, or have Jewish roots themselves – historically, Ukraine had a sizeable Jewish population, the majority of which repatriated to Israel in the 1970s and then again in the 1990s. Before the Holocaust and post-war aliyahs, Odesa, for instance, was considered the Jewish capital of first the Russian Empire and then the USSR.
      3. Many Ukrainians perceive Israel as something of a „nation-state that became successful despite being surrounded by an existential enemy“ – a situation that feels both comparable and, in some ways, an inspiring example.
      4. Hamas is considered a legitimate partner by Russia. Russia has infamously and repeatedly refused to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization, and Hamas leaders have made quite a few diplomatic visits to Moscow since the 2000s. This leads many Ukrainians to believe that Russia was sponsoring Hamas, or that the Kremlin played some part in orchestrating the October 7th attacks, which, again, brings us back to the „enemy of my enemy“ logic.

      >Highest in Ukraine

Not surprising that Ukraine is the country in Europe least likely to be sympathetic to the Russian/Iranian propaganda campaign narrative against Israel.

    6. Germany might have the greatest discrepancy between population and politicians

    7. Disappointed that the UK is so low, but not in the least bit surprised when our media calls anyone criticising Israel an antisemite.

    8. What is up with the UK? (It’s England, by the way, that guy really isn’t popular in Scotland)

The country that is being invaded by its neighbor supports the country that has been getting invaded by it’s neighbor for the last 80 years shocking

I wonder if the tankies in the og thread have ever felt what Ukraine is feeling now. If you’re in a situation where senile maniac is trying to annex you, then maybe another war isn’t in your top priority…

I don’t think even Ukraine likes him, after his refusal to support them and his repeated siding with his friend Putin.

The only countries where Netanyahu would be highly popular are the petrodollar kingdoms… They are the only ones who will subscribe to his OnlyFans.

Ukraine mostly just because the enemy of the friend of my enemy is kinda my friend.

As a Ukrainian I do not support him but I see why people do. I hate Iran not like Israel

    14. I’m surprised Kosovo isn’t riding Netan’s dick considering they usually follow whatever the current US administration supports.

Is there a logical explanation for France? Given how many immigrants they get from the Middle East or North Africa, it’s really surprising that Netanyahu’s approval there is better than much of Western and Northern Europe?

Lolz, if 1 out of 10.000 people in Romania know WHO he is. And if 1 out of 100.000 can spell his name i will give you, yes you, a beer.

    17. irish_horse_thief on

A lot of bs figures there, over inflating his approval even if they are negative.

thats crap btw, at the very least ukrainians dislike this dude for his love towards putin

    19. Prudent_Cow_7169 on

Of course- both countries are fighting defensive wars against invaders. It’s just that in the case of Israel, the invaders lacked the brains to understand that they shouldn’t pick a fight with a more powerful foe.
