Thank god I finally might be able to avoid hearing that song on TV anymore. Absolutely unbearable.

I’m starting to wonder if those kids weren’t actually playing those instruments

Wonderful news. That jingle is **physically painful** for me, and it always has me scrambling for my remote; and that’s *before* I found out what „charity“ it supports.

That child will forever haunt me. That voice… it must be playing when you enter the first ring of hell

I’m glad the ads are being pulled but why in the hell did it take so long and a Californian court to call it?

I hope I never have to hear that damn song ever again.

    6. Between this and last night’s J.G. Wentworth Last Week Tonight, tough weekend for over advertised scams with annoyingly catchy jungles.

    7. Just waiting for all the people screaming anti semitism for those calling out Oorah for sending 17-18 olds to Israel to find partners.

      >In her decision, Judge Apkarian noted Oorah’s programs include „matchmaking for young adults and gap year trips to Israel for 17 and 18-year-olds.“

    8. Good, these guys are a scam.  HOWEVER, there are some deserving charities that will take your old car and give you a tax reciept.  So the idea isnt a scam, just Kars 4 Kids

Are we allowed to talk about where the money was going or would that be anti semitic?

Excellent. They can change the jingle and add a black girl to the tv commercials to not seem racist but they can’t fool everyone forever. Always been a stealth religious scheme for extremists and their NY/NJ/Israel based pet causes but they don’t tell their audience.

    11. Aw that’s a shame. It was my second favourite charity after Aircraft Carriers for the Elderly.

    12. Now pull those atrociously deceiving and predatory CHIP reverse mortgage commercials too!

    13. If you ARE looking to get rid of a car and get a tax write-off, Kidney Car is a great way to go about it, and the money raised goes towards funding kidney disease research and transplant awareness programs in Canada, instead of sending Orthodox Jewish teens to Israel.

“Canadian tax filings show the organization transferred $12.6 million to the U.S. and Israel in the fiscal year ending May 31, 2025”

What the fuck? That’s an insane level of deception & I’d be infuriated had I donated.

I understand many of us joke about America being full of emotional adult children but it’s just banter, Kars4Kids.

This is the greatest thing they’ve done in decades. Hopefully every radio station follows suit.

    16. It’s been quite challenging to explain just how stupid this charity is to other people without sounding like a cartoonish anti-Semite from the 1930’s because it’s that insane.

“So you’re telling me a Zionist charity for ‚kids‘ not only routinely loses its money to poor management and scams, but what little money it has, is used primarily to send near-adults on mission trips to Israel?!”

Why does CBC need to do something ‚after‘ it’s highlighted as a shitty thing in the US of all places..

I thought we were better than them …. At least?

    18. WavyGravyyyyy on

I hate that commercial with such passion. Maybe this is the beginning of the normalization of relations between our two nations. Ending that stupid commercial moves the US up a notch

    19. Few-Rise-527 on

This scam was widely known years ago.

If I knew then the CBC knew but ignored for $.

    20. Nothing is real, everything is a scam. Rough times my friends. Even when we try to do the right thing, there is a hidden catch.

    21. Skotzman1969 on

Apparantly it should be called Kars for American Jewish kidz.
They should lose their charity status in Canada.

Finally. Never donate your car to them. If you want to help actual Canadians and get a good tax receipt, donate to Teen Challenge Canada. Last I heard a few years it ago it was a guaranteed $700 tax receipt but I know someone who got over $2,000 because they give you the actual value of the car as a tax receipt and not just the minimum.

    23. I’m glad this is finally coming to the forefront of public consciousness. I’ve been talking about this for years, but it’s hard not to describe Kars4Kids accurately without sounding like an insane antisemitic conspiracy theorist.

    24. Somewhat concerning that a US Court is triggering action in Canada. If the Canadian affiliate is running misleading ads, then Canadian regulators should have caught it. If the Canadian affiliate is not in fact running the same ads as in the US then a Canadian court should be deciding what is or is not misleading in Canada.

Is a kid getting my old car, or am I getting a kid in return for my old car?

    26. WonkeauxDeSeine on

Whatever the „charity“ is, they had just trashed their meme-worthy ad with the kids pretending to play instruments in favor of an ad featuring real kid musicians that actually recorded the jingle.

And now it turns out, it was *all* fake.

      Sucks for the musicians though.

    27. Own-Beat-3666 on

CRA should pull their charity license. Obviously its fraud. If you do some research there are lots of Canadian charities where most of the money goes to administration and advertising and very little goes to what they are actually setup for. Using Kids or Sick Kids just shows you how low some of these charities will go to suck in the donations.
