Born in Alberta , ive spent hald my life there and still visit often .
Photo radar is a major deteriont from me calling it home lol.
I cant stand it , im not a heavy speeder , privacy freak or anti government but getting tickets in the mail turns me off of Alberta substantially.
I’ve said „I told you so“ so often during Ford’s first run that I got tired of it. Day in and day out it wears you down. Which I assume is part of the strategy. He’s taken on the firehose strategy from south of the border.
I feel a lot of people say we need speed cameras or say they want them
But the moment they where gone everyone started driving faster the next day
So clealry there is a disconnect.

Here’s a non paywalled article about the same topic.
I know the traffic camera debate is a volatile one, but I still support the idea of traffic cameras. Municipalities put a lot of money into it. My municipality didn’t participate, the one beside did, only cost them about $100,000, they made it back, literally immediately. The cameras help. But yet, Ford called it a “cash grab”. I don’t, I call it traffic control.
I know I’d be re-implementing cameras first day.
