In germany, our government is basically a lobby for the rich. Instead of taxing them, they are weakening labor laws and plan to cut support for people with disabilities to an extent that violates UN conventions.

Problem is no one agrees what „rich“ is.
Top 1% that’s Doctors and lawyers upper Middle class. The top billionaires in the world, sure but none of them will stay if you try.

We need to tax properties more in Denmark, and tax wages less for the 9th decile and below

69% of Swiss want more taxes for rich people.
On last federal election, 72% voted for parties which reject more taxes.

I always get a libertarian, individualistic vibe from Finns and Estonians I see online so this checks out.

Everybody wants rich to be taxed, but in effect, they are not taxed nearly as much as middle class. Democracy is an illusion.

Not surprising when billionaires pay lower taxes than their house cleaners.
There needs to be a 10% minimum wealth tax enforced based on nationality rather than residency so it can’t be avoided.

So basically, everyone in nordics and western europe should be taxed more

In Ireland 30-35% of workers don’t even pay tax or negligible amounts, bottom 50% of earners make up a very small amount of tax, top 20% pay 75% of all income tax, with the top 1% making up 25% of income tax. Ireland has one of the most progressive tax systems, I think there’s a lot of other things we should do before taxing higher earners even more. (Also I think people look at social media from other countries too much, aka USA, where the rich absolutely need to be taxed more)

3/4, and in some cases even 4/5 of the people want something to happen, yet the thing doesnt happen.
Interesting.

Government should waste less money, already enough taxes, dont need more.

the real question is, who is rich?
it ranges from something like 10 million € a year to 70k € a year depending on who you ask
and in the end, as always if it happens the people who are affected most is the middle class. the really rich just find their loopholes or go somewhere else.

Not more taxes, but better enforcement. Europe actually has the best enforcement of taxation.

depends what they mean by rich, if you make over 2k on paper you get taxed extra. lets ignore that you don’t see like 40% of that paycheck does making 300$ over minimum salary make you „rich?“ no? then there you go you are not voting for rich to get taxed.

Now we need another map saying just how much the average superrich person has to pay in taxes in each country.
I mean… in Germany effordless inheritances over 30 Million € or over 300 apartments are tax free, while the average worker pays around 50% taxes and dues on his hard earned salary. I really wonder why only 81% want higher taxes for the rich.
(I also wonder why the higher-taxes-for-the-rich-party got 9% of the votes, and the three even-lower-taxes-for-the-rich-paid-for-by-making-your-health-insurance-worse-and-increase-the-VAT-parties got 51%.)
Maybe in Finnland half of the people don’t want to tax the rich more because they already pay a somewhat fair share of taxes? (here’s to hoping..)

In the Netherlands a lot of people think they are the rich that will be taxed more while they’re not even close to being that rich
