I get the impression that law enforcement is just dumb. Every tiny municipality everywhere could just send a subpoena to exchanges and unmask anyone, and yet they’re running around like a chicken without its head „because crypto“.
It looks like education is picking up, with the assistance of these „task forces“, but its all a lot of fanfare really to compensate for ignorance and incompetence.

If that’s the case, I would definitely think actual counterfeit of fiat is going undetected in a lot of cases.
Side question….. what are some of you gurus thinking on Imagine crypto? Curious, thanks to all.

They have sniffer dogs for electronics now, still must be way easier to hide a hardwallet than a giant mound of cash.
What happens if you just refuse to give them the keys, can they still seize it?

I worked many seizures related to Binance. It is everything from terrorism to CSAM. You can buy a Binance account for $100 on Telegram. Their compliance is trash. I had a call with one of their employees about OFAC compliance. He verbatim told me „if the person is not an SDN it’s ok“. They hire a bunch of Russians and other foreigners to guide them in OFAC compliance.
