Typic english-speaking writting autism for some reason. Same with the USA. UK and USA using AM and PM total nonsence. Poir Ireland

I live in Malaysia and Singapore (former British colony) and we write 10,000.50.

Interestingly, when I take a 45-min boat ride to Indonesia (former Dutch colony), it becomes 10.000,50.

Its very interesting to see this kind of difference living on in former colonies!

„wow i love seeing the sun in southern poland“

      the evil sunblocking comma:

    4. As a French, I will always write 7,8 on paper but 7.8 on my computer. Thinking about it, I will also say 7 comma 8 unless I’m like asking you to write it on computer where I would say 7 dot 8 naturally.

I wonder if it’s the same for everyone and every comma country.

    5. And because of england wanting to stand out, i am now forced to guess every time if i’m supposed to put a dot or a comma for a program to work

The rest of the world uses „.“ because of Great Britain 🔥.

    7. Guess I’ll go to the Swiss embassy and request mathematical asylum. I never in my life been able to stick to one, oddly enough.

Everyone I know from the UK used a comma. That what I was taught in school anyway

Making Britain look like the odd one out when the majority of the rest of the world, i.e. most of Asia, uses a dot too.

    10. 123,456,789.0123 makes by far the most sense. Commas to separate segments, and one stop.

I’m confused. How do you use both in Switzerland and then what do you use with large numbers, just spaces?

    12. Using the harder punctuation for the end of the whole number makes 1 billion times more sense.

I’ve lived in three continents and humbly worked almost 2 decades of engineering and would literally die on this hill. All counter arguments are brainwashed cope from non technical sheep, but have at it, with the nationalistic pride and sunk cost fallacy.

that is great – I thought it was more random in EU, from now on i will use comma when commenting instead of using UK and US separators.
