    1. That’s the story of this administration. Something happens that would have been too ridiculous for a comedy. And you just have to accept it’s real life now.

Once again I’m asking you to spare a thought for the poor satirists of the world. They have to come up with ridiculous things to make people laugh and then the real subjects do something 100x more ridiculous.

Writer’s room: Hey, wouldn’t it be funny if we had the President shit his pants during a press conference and the stench is so bad it clears the room?

Can’t someone brainstorm the idea that Trump and his pack of lunatics all go to prison soon?
I’d love to see that come to fruition.

    5. Lookit Colin Jost over here pretending he’s psycic; if he was really psychic, he would leave Scarlet now knowing she was going to leave him soon.

Jost needs to beef up the stage make-up parody and do really blue eye shadow with red rosy cheek blush. Really bring attention to how Hegseth is such a diva that he put a make up studio in the Pentagon.

Colin Jost as Hegseth is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. He’s fantastic at it and clearly enjoys the part

    8. Maybe if you make the joke before they can use your material they will be forced into the only option which is the right thing…. or, and this is most likely, they will come up with an even greater WTF.

I imagine this is how Rome felt when Nero came into power.

💯 Hegseth heard about it and said, “I do that and these mothrfukers will eat it up!”

I hate to defend any member of this reprehensible administration, but Pete Hegseth was reading a pledge from the handbook of some military unit he served in that happened to be a slightly modified version of the Pulp Fiction prayer. I’m pretty sure he never said it was a real Bible verse.

Maybe humanity is just collectively manifesting the worst versions of reality.

Whoever has the power in the writer’s room to write reality needs to write a joke with a suicide pact, with all of em

Next, Colin could suggest how hilarious it would be if Hegseth resigned and took the rest of the incompetent cabinet with him.

Sort of like The Boys airing that episode of Homelander having his become god vision within weeks of Trump posting images of himself as Jesus. Though I suppose it’s not too difficult to predict the Christofascist movement would reach its inevitable conclusion.

    15. Now I’m thinking one of the writers is a woke double agent feeding Hegseth material for his speeches and stole Jost’s idea. DIABOLICAL! lol

Theyre performers. Thats all there is to it! They perform for their base. They dont have to deliver because they already suckered the rubes !!!

When the US first made Trump their President I thought it must be so hard to write for South Park. Fast forward to now and it’s practically impossible to take the piss because their reality is so much more pathetic than a bunch of writers can come up with.

    18. Thinking of that onion article that came out in 2007 or so about implementing high-speed buses in California, and then this week it becomes a real proposal!

    19. Satire has been truly bizarre for quite some time. When Jon Stewart was the full time host of The Daily Show, they would often show a clip, cut back to him, he would pause, then repeat what they said. Nothing needed to be added
