I mean the vocals weren’t there, but I think overall she was so happy to be there, her energy was unmatched

Honestly, its a really s*itty year songs-wise for this performance to pass. I never liked the song or it’s sound, but i was hoping an explosive performance would save it. I know its diffucult to perform a complicated choreo and sing, but with all due respect to the people who put this together, she sucked big time. She was out of tune, her face was „hard“ most of the time, and the staging was…base…. im happy we passed…but we aint making anything above 12th position in the final. This was one of our worst.

    3. BRAVO, Antigoni! You go, Kori! 🧜🏻‍♀️ Shame on everybody, especially Cypriots – Dropi tous! -for constantly putting her down while she so sincerely keeps promoting Cyprus. The dress designers and the stylist included. She looked fantastic!✨

The song Jalla even includes a Turkish word, though it is not a Cypriot origin term.

The word tsifteteli (τσιφτετέλι) is derived from the Turkish phrase çiftetelli, which translates to **“double string“** or „pair of strings“.

      **Etymological Breakdown,,**

      **Çifte:** Meaning „double“ or „pair“.

**Telli:** Meaning „stringed“ or „string“ (from *tel*, meaning string or wire).

      **Musical and Cultural Origins**

**Instrumental Technique:** The term originated as a musician’s expression for a specific violin-playing style in which the fiddler placed two strings in the same slot of the nut, tuning them either the same or an octave apart to produce a thicker, more sensual sound.

**Origin:** The dance is of Anatolian origin, closely associated with the Ottoman era, and is popular in modern Turkey and Greece, particularly after the 1923 population exchange brought by the Greeks to Greece from Asia Minor.

**Meaning:** It refers to both a 4/4 or 8/4 rhythm and the corresponding belly dance, which is characterized by rhythmic hip movements.

Of course we passed. We didn’t buy that missile defense system from them for nothing!
