This is a bit of “Epater la bourgeoisie,” but does anyone know why this is better than a certain German army sweeping over Eastern Europe?

This is sick, nice job if this is yours!
Also, just if you’re looking for suggestions, something that might be interesting to add is the slow readmittance of former Confederate states to the Union in the decade after the war ended, they were considered occupied territory for a while in there, not full states

it would be more informative if it would show the tribal lands and forced resettlements of the native tribes.

The US never recognized the Texas claim to New Mexico. This was strictly in Texan imagination and they never got anywhere close. New Mexico’s actual American links were with Missouri via the Santa Fe Trail. The US Army of the West rushed out the trail in 1846 and made NM a separate US territory keeping Texas out.

As someone from Michigan, I feel a strange inclination towards owning the moniker „Unorganized Territory“.

Why no Philippines or Puerto Rico?
Or Guam, or the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia…?
