Have the Germans learned nothing from what MAGA did in the USA?
I wonder if those polls also factor in the expected voter turnout for every party. If you ask „What party would you vote for, if the elections where next Sunday?“, that might not be enough. If an AfD win is possible, both AfD voters and voters of the other parties will vote in record numbers. The last election (during Covid) hat a turnout of 60.3%, but even the one before had only a turnout of 61.1%.
If the AfD actually wins the majority in one state, that could actually hurt them in the rest of the country, because finally they would have to prove that they can really run a state and solve some of the problems that made people vote for them.
Getting even one third of the seats will give them enough power though to block certain things that require a two third majority. For example the AfD could block any changes in the constitution of the state. The could also block any parliamentary control commission.
Russia is winning. Germany should take far more drastic measures to curb Russian influence. Fascist movements all across Europe and the MAGA movement in the US will slowly disappear without the constant flow of Russsian disinformation. China does have similar tactics but their focus is on economic dominance rather than imperialism. So, they need countries to favor trade with them, which fascists typically wouldn’t.
It would be so stupid if Russia’s money and info resources would get fashists come to power in Germany. Like have we learned anything? It is so dumb, Putin somehow thinks that he would be able to control neofascists after they get the power.

Classic Germany
The rise of reactionary racists who idolize the Nazis is never beautiful
Welp, this is not good news. Sometimes I feel like the leftist parties are actively trying to lose the election though. One example: in Berlin, some leftist nutjob apparently proposed banning cars within the city ring. As you can imagine, this is very unpopular. Now all the right wing parties are campaigning against car ban. Basically all the political ads within the city is about this bullshit. Meanwhile, the city is a dysfunctional mess. But the elections seem to be about saving the city from an insane car ban.
The weird thing is, I feel like anyone with like 80+ iq should have seen this coming the moment you propose a car ban. Are the leftists actively trying to lose the elections? 🤔
Excellent. There is hope for Germany.
I had to check what sub I was in, I thought this was /r/worldnews for a second
How do I make this about maga, orange man and le Nazis, mah favourite buzzwords
That’s the new Nazi party, right? Ffs people, open a history book, just once.
Or just look at what’s happening everywhere else in the world. How is any of that appealing?
Basic visuals and awful result, so nothing beautiful here
Well that was anything but unexpected. Curious to see how much of a shitshow it would be with a populist party at charge.
Ew, this is NOT beautiful data and OP defending AfD is even more nasty (as the big majority of Germans agree with me).
Anyone got a good explanation why BSW didn’t work out? I thought a left wing but anti immigration party would fill a gap, but seems like the voters prefer the classic hard left, die linke. Or is it just that sara wagenknecht herself is not popular.
always in the wrong side of history
Here is a statistics about state govenrment
CDU CSU is in 10 governments leading 8
spd is in 12 governments leading 7
Greens are in 7 governments leading 1
The left in in 2 governmnts leading 0
FDp is in 2 governmets leading 0
BSW is in 1 governments leading 0
There are 6 states with Center Left/ Left governments
There is 1 state with Center Right/ Right government
There are 9 states with a broad left right coalition
this is not beautiful data, its awful data, darkest timeline type of stuff
Also, interestingly, this trend is happening in multiple countries in Europe like UK, France and Spain so things might change a lot in next year elections.
Look how Labour has been wiped in the local elections just now, it’s best not to ignore and learn from Canada, which they shifted some of their positions towards the center and doing very well in the polls.
Well, AfD wins with claims absolutely unenforceable and a gov that messes up in a way that I start to believe the rumors, they are already working on a CDU/AfD coalition after re-elections in spring next year…
The only party the AfD could work with is BSW. The CDU will not work with Linke (and probably vice versa). Perhaps toleration? Would be a seismic result.
Hell yeah brothers. Take your country back
Since 1990, Saxony-Anhalt has lost around 24% of its population and now has approx. 2.2 million inhabitants. With an average age of 48 years, it is also among the top group of Germany’s most rapidly aging federal states. I’m not saying that’s the cause, but this data at least provides a little more data or context. 😄
