Whose „work“ are we talking about here? Some people work in industries where this sort of thing is OK.

So now Kickstarter is making moral judgements on people’s work? OK.

    2. I got an idea for a website and I just need some crowd funding to get it started

But not online racists who scream the N word to get famous and rich?

Most likely the credit card companies were pressuring them like they did steam.

I’m not a horny games guy but I still DEEPLY dislike the connotations of that.

We are approaching a world were the financial powers that be can decide FOR YOU how you spend YOUR money.

The problem is who designates what constitutes NSFW, and how that definition can change at the drop of a hat. LGBT content is okay today, but what if a government starts hinting that they want to ban websites with trans content? Poof, all the Kickstarters with LGBT characters/connections go out the window. Are bra inserts for cancer survivors considered NSFW? Boxers/briefs? Customizable items that *could* have an NSFW image someday? A calendar with photos of OSHA violations? This may sound ridiculous, but depending on what your definition of NSFW is, some or all of these could fall in that category.

    6. Their policy is worse than the old Hays censorship codes. Under Kickstarter’s new policy, Disney media such as Lady and the Tramp and The Lion King are considered „Porn“.

    7. I fucking love not having the choices to do what the fuck I want with my own money because some third party company is afraid of the backlash they might receive from Christo-nationalist pedophile supporters. We’re just so fucking free in America. Can’t buy porn but the president is a child rapist!

    8. So

„Photographs, photo-realistic depictions, printed models, sculpture, and illustrations of:
Sex acts or implied sex acts, inclusive of masturbation.
Nudity inclusive of female nipples/areolas, genitalia, anuses, gluteal cleft (buttocks).
Implied nudity where the subject is wearing lingerie, fetish wear, or clothing that is see-through or very tight and shows human genitalia, the anus, or the nipple/areola of female breasts.“ is banned

      But

„Nudity (breasts, genitalia, anuses, gluteal cleft/buttocks) found in projects that are portrayed in a non-sexualized, scientific, educational, or documentary style where the focus is not on genitalia or reproductive organs.“ is allowed?

So who decides what is and isn’t allowed here? WTF?

    9. Sucks I chipped money to subverse back in the day. A project like that can’t happen again on kick starter

The thing that gets me, that is the most insane that also prohibits “implied sexual content that happens off screen” and “lingerie that your character can wear” strange, especially since balder gate 3 sex, things can be quite explicit

    11. Damn, there goes my dream of someone coming up with a super fun dildo bike…

    12. Is there any website in existence that banned adult content and then saw an increase in traffic rather than a massive decrease?

    13. I hate to slippery slope but unfortunately we have had instances where lgbt content is categorized as NSFW (or not safe for investors)

Someone should make a copycat website for NSFW stuff called Dickstarter

    15. So by nsfw you mean anything sex-related? Not things like violent video/board games?

    16. Payment processors are utilities and should not have the ability to block any legal transaction whatsoever. They should be processing money, that’s it.

It’s really insane to witness the total chokehold of which the banks and advertisers in this country have on literally everything.
