    1. Fire is out? Sounds like they need another light from “falling debris” lmfao

    2. For those unaware, here is the ELI5 for what the title is saying.
Ukraine hit two facilities in Perm – The Perm Linear Production Dispatch Station **(LPDS)** and the nearby **Perm oil refinery**.

The **LPDS** is where 4 major pipeline converge. It serves as a key strategic junction that receives, sorts, and stores oil coming from Western Siberia and sends oil to regional refineries and export facilities. The Perm oil refinery was one of the refineries that was fed by the LPDS. The attacks destroyed 6 out of 10 tanks at the facility, and the oil pipeline control station. The station was the „brain“ that controlled oil movement out of the LPDS.

The **Perm oil refinery** was a key facility processing over 13 million tons of oil annually. The strikes damaged **two primary distillation units** and the **gasoline isomerization unit**.

Damaging the **primary distillation units** is much more impactful than hitting the storage tanks. These units are the entry point of the refinery; they are the massive towers that perform the first, most essential step of breaking down crude oil into different fuel types. Without them, the refinery cannot function, and because they are highly specialized, they are notoriously difficult and slow to repair under the current sanctions.

Damaging the **gasoline isomerization unit** was also key, this unit is essential for increasing the octane rating of fuel. Its loss severely limits the refinery’s ability to produce high quality gasoline for both military and civilian use.
