2025 being the left bar and 2019 being the right bar feels backwards and makes this harder to interpret IMO

Do the numbers mean that is how many people are or are not virgins?

    3. Or they are just all gay now.

Edit: Since I’m getting downvoted, I assume people missed the note from OP that it only includes heterosexual experiences.

    4. how do the numbers go down? 96% of 24 year olds have had a kiss, but only 92% of 25 year olds?

    5. Sorry about my inability to read German, but why do some of the numbers go down as age increases?

Anyone else find this quite sad? My old millenial heart wishes gen Z had a youth without a pandemic and too much social media.

Statistics is funny. 18 year olds in this data set are 5% less likely to be experienced with kissing than 17 year olds

They should have divided it by gender as well. I would bet you would see divergent results.

    9. Weird how for the 2019 data, rates almost tripled between 15-16, nearly doubled again for 16-17, and then stayed completely flat for 17-18. The 2025 data is very similar.

Holy sh*t. We are so screwed. This is sad. The world is what it is. Im not sure where the floor is, if there is one, or if the pendulum will swing back the other way one day

They’re not socializing, they’re all on SSRIs. It’s just TikTok and perpetual adolescence.

    12. Can you also share the male/female percentage? Cus I guarantee you that it would be an interesting graph.

Wow this feels weird. Growing up in an environment (mostly school, older friends) where losing your virginity in middle school (like I did at 8th grade while still being 13) was normal and then seeing this graph which obviously shows it’s not. I knew about the averages but I guess this is starker way to present the actual data.

    14. If I were to push society to the brink of collapse I’d start with debasing the currency until procreation is a financial decision and not a spiritual or ethical one.

I can almost guarantee this is mainly because they made the moronic decision of excluding same-sex interactions. I get that the study itself included same-sex interactions, but the data in this chart includes those people as „virgins“ which makes no sense. A lot more teens are gay nowadays. Half my sister’s graduating class from high school identified as gay or bi.

    16. Am I the only one that has questions about the 2019 data change from 23 to 24 years?
