I definitely enjoyed the video and its editing but I’ll need some more time to figure out how I feel about the song. It didn’t feel as dark and ominous as I expected from the teaser

I’m a bit whelmed honestly. This might be a grower since I’m not very used to not having a distinct ear worm chorus for aespa.
Still cool tho, glad they’re taking risks and doing smth new

Also, GDs feature def adds to the songs atmosphere, enjoy it a lot

Okay, here’s a slight disappointment: this song is a half-banger. I feel edged😅 I never really got that release. A punchy chorus just isn’t there. It feels like the song builds and builds and builds… only for there to be no payoff.

The tempo was insane straight out of the gate, but in my opinion it just needed a bigger chorus. Just that blow after the verses. Especially after G-Dragon’s rap part, it would’ve hit even harder if we got a huge outro chorus.
Still, the production is insane. Dem Jointz gives K-pop groups such an edge, love that.

    4. Surprised this was almost a fully rap song, barely any singing too aside from the first verses. Dem Jointz’s beat here is insane, I love it whenever he goes nuts for his productions.

G-Dragon’s verse was alright, he’s done better stuff. Though between this and the recent Asa-Kai collab, it makes me really want more YG-influenced rappers to tap SM’s producers and go crazy on the production.

This might sound weird but this song and MV just makes me miss f(x) so much. Like this is totally the weird type of shi they would do if they were still making music

    6. I truly love them, but this video missed the mark for me and actually kind of ruined the song on a first listen. The AI usage is way more prominent here than in their previous stuff, it’s at the point where it’s distracting because you can clearly tell what’s generated. Excluding that the non-ai scenes still are nothing interesting. The only saving grace for me was seeing the girls actually having fun in some shots. I do feel like the song will grow on me once I start streaming it on its own tho

Ok who’s responsible for letting the girls go diving 😫

    8. I think I’ll have to warm up to the song but the production is fresh af. That being said, aespa is so interesting, you can clearly mark a shift in their sound/image. Like debut to Girls was very lore-heavy and revolved around SMCU visuals. Spicy was a transition bought their electronic, glitchy sound into the real world with fun, chaotic visuals. Then Dirty Work or arguably, Armageddon marks their new era, which is more hiphop influenced with dystopic imagery. Unfortunately, their new style neglects the SM vocal runs but fingers crossed the lead will make up for it

I’m sad. I dislike Rich Man and Dirty Work, and WDA falls on the type of feels, sound/genre.

    10. It’s something different. I agree to the other comment that it feels like this is made for a boy group/male voice maybe because of GD’s style. Maybe the performance video/choreography will help it. The MV slaps tho. Really really cool vibes that I wish they used it for a different song.

Don’t like the song. Great instrumental and mv but the song lacked singing parts. Too much talk-singing ruined the song for me

I know it would have prob been a lot of money to have him actually on set but

REPLACING GDRAGON WITH A CGI HORSE THAT RAPS IS TAKING ME OUT 😭

    13. Why do they keep insisting on doing these rap english heavy/“hip hop“ concept which doesnt suit them?  They seem to think it will help them in western market when it’s the opposite. Dirrty work, rich man and now wda; can they just reheat whatever lsm leftovers are still in the archives. If they really want these then it should be the b-side not the title track.

    14. Routine_Sign2333 on

i don’t like the song, i think the structure is really weird, the lyrics are fairly weak. I don’t like gdragon’s verse it felt like random words thrown together

      >I’m get it down
      Action Reaction Extra Ceremony
      Get ya Dragon
Just do it i’m on it
      Hashtag aes PA
      Turn into a munchkin, Mo
      Conqueror energy

like what ? (these are the official lyrics added as caption on the mv btw so it’s legit)

      The beat sounds good.

edit; the mv looks interesting, some really cool parts, some more goofy looking, the girls looked good

    15. lipsticksandsongs on

Not my cup of tea but would be surprised if it doesn’t do very well in Korea considering how popular both artists are

    16. IceMysterious3056 on

This type of music and concept doesn’t suit them, because it takes a strong group with that type of attitude to really pull it off similar to Dirty Work. It also needs to feel cohesive, and right now it just doesn’t.

    17. Any-Capital5985 on

I loved the MV, but I kinda expected more from them? I don’t know something like supernova+armageddon, but it’s still good tho and unique too.

    18. I hoped they would go back to the style before dirty work. I don’t like it, but lets see how they chart. Maybe it’s a banger and just not my cup of tea.

    19. royalasaqueen on

the instrumental is really good, i liked it better on the second listen but some of the lyrics are killing me lol

“why they don’t be talkin about this, i wanna talk about it” please stop 😭

    20. AustronesianArchfien on

Man idk I like the instrumentals but its just missing what made Drama till Whiplash (even Dirty Work fight me!) special….

    21. I’m putting this together with Rich Man and Dirty Work, my least favorite songs from them.
Kinda excited for the album though, I think I’ll enjoy a few songs there.

    22. Gloomy-Eye9380 on

3rd consecutive Aespa release I didn’t really enjoy. Idk why they are releasing so rap heavy songs with minimal singing when they have such great vocalists

    23. So it’s pretty obvious that the MV is making heavy use of AI right? I wasn’t sure myself since I haven’t seen any label use it so much, but it definitely looks like there is tons of AI editing here.

On the song, it’s ok? I like the beat and overall vibe but the whole thing feels as if I’m on the edge of the song actually hitting, so at the end I’m just unsatisfied.

    24. idk man… it’s kinda their 4th attempt in a row now to make this hiphop-adjacent sound work and it’s starting to make me question why when their own chart history itself will tell them it’s the techno sounds that do them the most results!

    25. Was really looking forward to this but fairly disappointed. I can’t see myself listening to this repeatedly like I did previous Aespa releases

    26. No idea how a song featuring both aespa and G-Dragon could turn out so boring and forgettable… I feel like I would have loved the music video if the song was good

I’m not against experimental music but I’m against it when it doesn’t highlight the members‘ strengths. This does not sound like an aespa song. Like another commentator said, aespa used to /sing/. aespa’s random OSTs used to be bangers!

      I liked G-Dragon’s part a lot more

    27. behindsomewalls on

Rap isn’t for aespa. SM needs to let it go. They should just push them as a vocal group coz that’s their strength.

    28. I was expecting to break into a catchy hook or a great chorus. It never came. Won’t be listening to it again.

    29. starplatinum_99 on

Umm yeah I’ll just wait for the title track and other b-sides. And I say this as a czennie. It’s very neo but aespa doesn’t really nail this concept.

    30. Electromagneticpoms on

I really don’t understand how a top company can release a video that looks like this. I also don’t understand why you’d give a vocally strong group a song like this. I just have a lot of questions.

I would be thrilled to never see AI in kpop again. I’ve followed kpop for over a decade now and always loved the MV side of it… until the AI slop-pocalypse.

Why train such beautiful people to sing and dance if you are just going to make their videos slop…

    31. rocketmammamia on

the song itself was okay but god i just fucking hate that one tiktok dance move where it looks like you’ve just smelled a really stinky shit and are holding your nose while trying to waft it away. what are we doing here
