Knowing the Albertans they would probably just lobby for US statehood.

They are trying to pull a Texas, and gain independence first so that they can join the United States as a State later.

  3. It’s largely Americans and the U.S. government that are pushing for and funding the Albertan separatist movement, so get your house in order if you don’t want to see that

Don’t worry, those fools couldn’t organise a fuck in a whore house. Alberta won’t be going anywhere.

Additionally, Alberta is indigenous land which at the end of the day they’re gonna have a hard time taking from the natives… again.

It’s saying something to Oklahoma. I’m not sure what it is.

  6. Don’t worry, it would be invaded by the US the second it gained independence

Its not going to happen. It barely makes 25% in the poles and the First Nations people have a very large say and can derail the attempt from the start.

North America needs a random Bolivia too. Where’s my landlocked disaster state? If not Alberta, let’s just isolate Oklahoma for no reason.

I’m in this fuck ass province. These idiots are loud as shit but we outnumber them greatly.

Also I didn’t even think of how the map would look, if they got all the bits of Alberta that aren’t treaty land, they get a piece of southwest alberta and a tiny colony in the north east.

  10. If it became independent or if it joined the United States, it would be a complete disaster aesthetically, and in every other way

In fact just to make it even more unpleasant to the eyes, a version of this, showing Minnesota as being annexed into Canada, and Arizona being annexed into Mexico, would be hilariously Tetris like

If it makes OP feel better, it would never be independent. It’s either part of Canada or part of the USA.

I think this is the dumbest thing I’ll hear all week and it’s only Monday.

    Albertan nation? 🤣

Almost no one genuinely supports Albertan independence and it’s probably yet another of those campaigns funded by Russia designed to hurt countries that it considers enemies.

  14. The separatists are nowhere near a 50% threshold. And even then, good luck, given the treaties with the Crown.

Also, the independence campaign is asteoturfed to high hell by MAGA assholes and big monied interests.

Just join the USA at that point but I can only imagine what a shit show it would be for all involved

I’m kinda mad at the language of this graphic, they haven’t verified the petition results and can’t until a lawsuit is settled. Due to a leaked voters list there is a chance it gets thrown out for fraud. The date has not been set and yet everyone is acting like the separatists already won.

sovereignty gives approximately 1/100th of 1% of your opinion of feces.

I’m still going Over/Under at 20%. It will be one of the worst referendums in history.

Alberta is going nowhere. They produce 80% of the oil for Canada and then export much of It to the US. Even if they voted to leave, Canada would shut that down. Canada became more united over the past year after seeing the US as well.

Albertan here, it’s a very very dumb thing to even think about. The idiots pushing it aren’t even from here.
If they don’t like it why don’t they move?
Can’t wait to get it over with so we can all move on with ours lives and put it behind us.
