The deep economic and cultural connections between the US and Ireland mean that they is demand for flights.

You might be surprised OP, there were more routes added than that 20+ years ago.
Here’s a fun fact: on average, there is between 12,000 and 14,000 flights in the air at any one time, although that varies a bit more depending on the time of day.
Did all of those depart from Dublin or did they just fly over it?
